This early children’s glass set is pictured in Metz 1. It is flint, but not bell-toned. The Metz date attribution may be a little early, my estimate is probably the 1860’s. Occasionally one sees pieces of this pattern in a full size – have seen a celery vase and a creamer. The color is black amethyst – it looks black when on a table and shows deep amethyst when held to the light. 2 7/8" h base to lip x 2 7/8" d. The tip of one scallop is gone. (#5681)
