This is a round antique portrait tile mounted in a silver frame. These tiles were originally designed to be inset as ornamentation into cast iron parlor stoves of the late 1800's. The tile measures 2 5/8" in diameter - framed it measures 3 5/8". No marks on the silver frame, which has a nice beaded edge on the inside rim. The tile features a woman, facing left, wearing a pearl necklace done in a yellow gold majolica glaze. In generally very nice condition. (#stove017)
