The Portland Glass Company made the Tree of Life pieces in silver plate frames, c. 1870. This is a very ornate frame. The band circling the spooner features continuous medallions of a peacock, deer running, wading bird, deer lying down, swan, deer standing. Partially covered by the frame is a rabbit, another deer and a fox. 6 ¼" h in silver plate frame x 3" w. Webster & Co. silver plate. The outside of the base has 3 small nicks plus an internal fracture which can be seen in the photo. Replating is needed. See the matching Tree of Life Creamer we have in stock! (5751)
