This Batchelder tile shows a deer or buck prancing, surrounded by a 3 line circle. Done in a matte gray - beige finish, with a blue engobe in the recesses, this measures 5 3/4" square by 3/4" thick. It is design #27 in the Batchelder Tiles catalog. This de-installed tile has a large chip on the top right self framing border and a shallow chip along the top border. If set in a frame, this tile would show extremely well. Some slight mortar/grout in a couple of the recesses. The back clearly shows the de-installation and some remaining mortar. Circa 1920's. (#1647)
