Batchelder tile depicting a dog with a tree in the background. Done in classic matte finish with brown and blue (in the recesses), this tile was made by Batchelder, in Los Angeles, California, circa 1920. Measuring 5 3/4" square by 3/4" thick. The tile has obviously been de-installed and has minor remains of mortar on the back. Very minor discoloration on the self framing bottom edge - generally in very nice condition. A nice example of California pottery and is design #25 in the Batchelder tiles catalog. (#1675)
