This Batchelder tile depicts two birds with 8 tail feathers, facing each other, in a two line circle. Done in a matte reddish/tan finish, with a blue engobe in the recesses, this measures 3 7/8" square by 5/8" thick. It is design #48 in the Batchelder Tile catalog. This de-installed tile has a good front tile surface, very minor chips to the back/side edges and some slight mortar/grout in a couple of the recesses. The back clearly shows the de-installation and some remaining mortar. Circa 1920's. This is mounted in a new wood frame - total size is 5" square - ready to go on your wall. (#4610-T1199)
