Four tiles - all measure 4 1/4" square - hand painted, on blanks made by AET, Franklin Tile, or American Olean - circa 1940's-50's. Each tile depicts a Native American Hopi Katchina figure: Sakwap Mana ( corn maiden ) ; Puchkofmoktaqa ( scorpion ); Tuson Koyemsi ( mud head ogre ); and the White Cloud Clown. Each of these tiles is initialed and dated - either '75 or '76 - the initials are H.D. No overglaze. Some wear on all of them. I believe these are one of a kind - and well done. We have another set of 4 tiles by this same artist for sale as well. (#1599)
