Manufacturer: glass company This is the largest (4 1/8" long) of 3 paperweights made c. 1876 to commemorate the landing of our Pilgrim Fathers. Maker unknown. This paperweight appears to have been dropped and rolled on the floor (sad, sad) as there are 3 surface bruises as well as a ¼" long surface flake between the bruises and above the "0". If you are still reading this, the most amazing thing about this piece is the 3 lines of text on the beveled bottom which say; "A rock in the wilderness welcomed our sires from bondage far over the dark rolling sea. On that holy altar they kindled the fires, Jehovah! Which glow in our bosoms for thee.
