Lovely pair of vintage needlework chair covers - that were previously used. Both have backings that are stamped " Made in Madeira ". Wool stitching. Both show fading. The flower example has a 1" diagonal cut in the wool on an edge, and 8" over on the same edge another 1" diagonal area of heavy wear. The fruit and flowers cover has no cuts. Both need stretching and cleaning. Probably circa 1920's. Flowers panel is 21" x 19" (needlepoint area) - the fruit and flowers panel is 20" x 16 1/2" (needlepoint area). (LC 010)
