One of the four Evangelists - this tile represents Mark - in the form of a lion. Made by The Mosaic Tile Company of Zanesville, Ohio, ca 1950's. The tile measures 6 1/8" square and is 1/4" thick Done in wax resist technique - done in mostly matte glazes - with the burgundy in high glaze. Tiny rub to the burgundy above the lion's head. In excellent condition. One of eight available in this rare series. (#1413)
