Manufacturer: Mosaic Tile Company
Mosaic Tile Company of Zanesville, Ohio, was not know for their Art Nouveau tiles - but this one is a beaut! I believe this was transfer printed and then hand colored - it has a clear majolica glaze on the top. The glaze colors are varied and lovely, and the blues are iridescent. Four molded feet on the back make this a trivet - circa 1910. Two minor chips on the right side, a minute nip on the upper left side, and a chip on the back. A great rarity with truly wonderful glazes! (#1034)
