Manufacturer: Kate Greenaway In the late 1880's there were "several tile manufacturers producing tiles that emulated the classic Greenaway style". * This is one of these marvelous tiles depicting children at play, with Dogwood flowers above them. The tile is 6" square and mounted in a period metal frame trivet (either heavy brass or bronze). The tile has some minor surface wear but still clearly shows the little girls catching butterflies. The accompanying book is "Mother Goose" illustrated by Greenaway - undated, printed in Great Britain, probably from the 1880's. The overall condition of the book is not good but manner of the interior pages are clean and bright.
