| Center handled server, or CHS, is green glass and was made by Paden City glass, then trimmed with gold around the edges and reddish burnt umber, brown black and ochre painted design of curved diamonds. Very very nice and a perfect example of this time period and style. Center handled server is 9 1/2 wide measuring across the flat edges and a little over 10 inches measuring point to point. The curved up sides are about 2 inches tall at the points and the whole glass piece is about 4 1/2 to 5 inches tall. Server is in excellent condition for its age with no chips or cracks and minimal wear to the glass. The black, burnt umber and ochre painted design has very light wear and the gold around the rim is about 95% intact with some wear on the pointed tips. There are gold curlicue scrolls under every other design and these range from about 30 to 60% intact. The part with the most wear is shown in the close up to give you a better idea what you are getting. You will enjoy having this super find so much. It will be a great display piece for your collection and then you can bring it out when you want that unique serving piece and show off your taste for vintage art deco American glass. |
