Book #11 in The Hardy Boys Series by Franklin W. Dixon. Photo shows the paper dust jacket cover, While the Clock Ticked, #11 printed on dust jacket binding outer edge, published by Grosset & Dunlap (no Grosset & Dunlap number is printed on the dust jacket). Copyright date on back of title page is 1932. The inside front cover flap of the dust jacket lists other books in the series, ending with The Secret of Pirates' Hill. The back inner flap of the dust jacket lists The Rick Brant Science - Adventure Stories published by Grosset & Dunlap, ending with The Electronic Mind Reader. The outer back cover of the dust jacket lists The Lone Ranger books by the same publisher, ending with The Lone Ranger on Red Butte Trail. Book measures 5 1/8 x 7 5/8 inches. Good used condition, not mint with expected reading/age wear. The book itself is in very good condition, but has a little (1/4 inch) semi-circular pushed-in tear on the spine which is also on the dust jacket (something must have jabbed the book at some point). The inside is clean & tight, with slight browning to the pages. Dust jacket shows other wear including along the top and bottom edge folding, wrinkling, small tears, creases, etc., with a small tear at the lower right front edge bottom measuring about 1/2 inch, a similar tear on the top front edge in the "H" in Hardy Boys, a slightly longer (3/4 inch) front top edge tear near the left bound side, a small tear with folding back on the top edge on the back cover, corner & outer edge bumping/ripping/tears, nothing unexpected for a book of this age that has been enjoyed. Stil a nice find with its dust jacket.

We have 2 copies of this book, one with a slight difference on the cover, showing the book number next to the series name. We believe these to be 1960s-70s editions (with the one mentioned above a slightly later edition than the other), although both of them show a copyright date of 1962.

These #3 books are updated versions of the original 1920s issues. On the back of the title page in each book it states, "In this new story, based on the original of the same title, Mr. Dixon has incorporated the most up-to-date methods used by police and private detectives." Their condition is very good. They have been read or used and are not mint, but still in good shape. There is edge wear and corner bumping or wear on the outside covers, and other small dirt or wear spots, but nothing bad. The insides are clean, the later one having a little bit of dirt on the page edges and a price sticker on the inside front cover. The earlier copy has some expected page corner and other page bending or folding. But both are highly usable, nice reading copies. Priced each.
