Bakelite Cigarette or Small Cigar Holder
Nifty small antique bakelite cigarette holder, or perhaps this could be used for smaller, thin cigars, we're not sure. Versus the many long cigarette holders we see, this is a neat short one, in the bakelite "butterscotch" or amber color. Measures about 1 5/8 inches in length, about 9/16 inch greatest width, with the cigarette round opening about 5/16 inch in diameter.
We've provided four images; please note that the white "hot spots" are reflections from the camera lighting on the glossy surface. Very nice old used condition. There is a tiny tiny oval surface flake or low chip on the cigarette end on the flat portion at the rim and some even smaller chipping/minor flakes around the hole through which one "breathes" in the mouth. The vintage piece was used and has surface wear via tiny scratches, rubbed/scraped areas, wear dots/spots, some discoloration, a few pin/black dots, etc...but you do need to look very closely to see all this. Not mint, but nothing unexpected for a piece of this age which was used and nothing which we find really objectionable, but you should know this is there.
A great find which would make an interesting addition to any tobacciana collection or grouping of tobacco-related collectibles, smoking collection or smoking-related collectibles, or a general collection of bakelite items.
