Pair Vintage Signed Coro Amethyst Rhinestone Screw-back Earrings Pretty pair of amethyst or purple antique screw-back earrings (screwback, screwbacks) signed on both pieces on the outer stem with "Coro". From a bit of research, we believe this mark dates from the 1940's, and this pair has that vintage 40s look, although we can't guarantee the age. The amethyst glass or amethyst rhinestones are prong set in a small flower design with a larger stone at the center (about 5/16 inch diameter) circled by six smaller stones (about 3/16 inch diameter).

This is a matching pair of earrings, measuring across the front 5/8 inch x 5/8 inch, and only about 3/8 inch in depth to the setting (the part which sits against the front of an ear). The prongs and backside metal are gold tone in color (not real gold). We have provided six images including close-up views. Please note that the white "hot spots" are reflections from the camera lighting on the shiny surface. It was difficult to show the Coro signature but you can see it at a distance in one image and close-up in another image, allbeit the close-up view is blurry (sorry, this was the best we could show it).

Attractive and usable pair, but these were worn/used, do show some age/wear and are not mint. All stones are there and from a distance look fine, but on very close inspection we do see a tiny chip on an upper edge of one small rhinestone (and there are possibly other much tinier flakes on other stones), as often happens with wear/use/storage. The surfaces of all stones are either a bit dirty or show some general use wear, we are not sure which (again, nothing seen from a distance when worn). We have not attempted to clean these and are selling them as is/as found. There are green spots on the backside of the metal as commonly happens (with more of this on one piece than the other); we don't know if this can be cleaned away. The metal parts likely also have usual wear, although we don't see anything else in particular to note.

Great as an addition to any collection of this neat Coro jewelry. A crafty person could also remove the screwbacks and convert these into small pins, cuff links or other interesting jewelry.

3 Pc Set B. David Pin & Clip Earrings Leaf Pattern Rhinestones Bl Grn Lovely antique jewelry set, a matching pin and pair of clip-on earrings, shaped like leaves with light blue and light green shimmery oval rhinestones. All three pieces are signed "B. David" with this seen on the backside of the top leaf petal of the pin and on the back of each earring clip. From a bit of research, B. David jewelry was made from 1945 to 1993. We are guessing that these pieces were made in the 1940's-1960's period from the style, but we don't know that for certain. On the inside of the earring clip portion is also stamped "PAT. 156452" (this is there on both earrings but much more readable on one of them). We believe this means the patent date traces back to 1874 and likely is the patent number for the clip mechanism, but these pieces themselves do not trace back to nor were made at that time.

The rhinestones or glass pieces are all prong set into a shiny silver-tone metal (this is not real silver or sterling silver). While in some lighting all the rhinestones may seem to have a similar light blue color, after you look at the pieces a bit you will notice that there really are two colors here by design (and they show as two slightly different colors in our images). The clip earrings consist of 7 stones with three of these in a row a light green color and the other four a light blue. Similarly on the pin, the 9 inner stones are light green in shade while the 14 outer stones are light blue. We think this gives these pieces a more attractive look than had they been made with all stones of one color. The shiny silver-tone metal further helps to make them glisten in the light or when worn.

We've provided 7 images to show close-up details including 2 shots of the B. David signature (on the pin and one earring). Please note that the white "hot spots" are reflections from the camera lighting on the glossy surfaces. These pieces are in very nice, very wearable condition but show slight wear/age as one would expect from pieces which have been worn and are not mint. All rhinestones are there but on close inspection at an angle in bright light, you can see some general surface wear and scratches/dots (nothing you would see from a distance). The stones likely are a bit dirty, but we have not attempted to clean these and are selling them as is/as found. The pin back and earring clips appear to close and clip fine. There is general wear to the backside metal on these pieces, but nothing unusual or bad for older pieces that have been worn.

A neat set to use or add to a collection of signed vintage jewelry or one of B. David pieces in particular. A crafty person could also remove the clips on the earrings and convert those into small pins, cuff links or other interesting jewelry.

1208

Vintage 1950s/1960s Emmons Jewelry Clip Earrings Rhinestone Nifty pair of vintage clip earrings that will really make a statement when worn with an elegant outfit. Made by Emmons Jewelry and marked on their backsides both on the earrings themselves and on the clip portions. Silvertone metal (not real silver or sterling silver) each with one good sized light blue rhinestone (we'd call this a rhinestone or it may just be glass, we are not jewelry experts and don't know the difference). To us these look very light blue, not totally clear, but one does look slightly bluer than the other (not something we think one would notice when they are worn but you can see this looking at them side by side). The overall shape we would describe as large feathery flower petals. We've provided lots of images so you can see for yourself, showing both sides, close-ups and the marks. Please note that the white "hot spots" are reflections from the camera lighting on the shiny surfaces. In the images the lighting angle causes one earring to look overall more silvery than the other but that is not the case...they both are the same.

Large clip size with overall largest measurements for one earring of 1 1/2 inches in width by 1 5/8 inches in height/length. The petal portions curve backwards and downwards in a neat sloping fashion. The clip parts still seem good with a lot of spring to them. From a little bit of research, we believe Emmons was a part of the C. H. Stuart Company of Newark, New York, manufacturing jewelry beginning in 1949 into the 1980's. While we don't know for certain, from the style of these pieces and the older home from which they came, we believe these would have been made in the 1950's or 1960's. It seems that C. H. Stuart was also the parent company of Sarah Coventry Jewelry.

Very nice usable/wearable condition. They do show evidence of their age/wear, however. There are no breaks, dents or large chips. However there is a good bit of surface wear or surface metal flaking/peeling/chipping on the silvertone areas. This shows as darker spots & dots where you can see some of the top surface metal is gone/worn/peeled away (this piece must consist of a base metal with a shiny silver top coating which is what is peeling in many spots). There are other dark dots and a few light brown dots. We tried to show some of this in the closeups but it is hard to show. This is definitely there, but when worn and seen from a distance we don't think anyone would notice this since most of the top silver surface is still there (we'd guess better than 80-85% is still there). The rhinestones seem to us to be in good shape and clear, perhaps a bit dirty/dusty but we haven't tried to clean as we don't know the right way to do this and are selling this as is/as found. It looks like the rhinestones may be just glued into place; the prong parts look just decorative to us and not like they are really holding anything in place.

An eye-catching pair of earrings which would make a fun addition to your wardrobe or a collection of great 1950's and 1960's costume jewelry overall or jewelry by Emmons in particular.
