4 Signed Heisey Glasses Wabash Stems Cocktail or Wine A This is a grouping of 4 Heisey Glass stems or glasses or stemware, all in their Wabash #3350 pattern. Please note that we actually have 12 of these same glasses and are listing them in groups of 4 as three separate items or groups for sale. We are doing this so that someone could buy only 4 or 8 or all 12 of the glasses, if they wish. Please look in this same category to see the other two groupings, which we are designating as "B" and "C" using otherwise the same titles. We would be pleased to combine shipment to save you postage costs.

We believe these to be small cocktail glasses although they could also be used as small wine glasses. When in use on a table setting, all 12 glasses would look to be of the same general height and size, but when grouped in one place you can see a slight variation in height among them. It is possible that this could have been caused by some or all of them having had their rims slightly filed at some point, but we don't know that that was done. We didn't do it and there are currently no rim chips on any of these that we have seen or felt. The difference in height is minor within 2/16 of an inch, with the shortest one glass measuring 4 13/16 inches, then 4 of them measuring 4 14/16 inches and the remaining 7 measuring 4 15/16 inches. In this Group A, one glass measures 4 14/16 inches and 3 measure 4 15/16 inches in height. The top bowl diameter of all 12 glasses is largely the same at 2 14/16 inches, although some may be a fraction more than that (and perhaps one goes a full 1/16 inches wider, it's hard to be totally accurate at the 1/16 inch difference with a ruler and "sightwise" they all look the same...). The round bases of the 12 glasses show the same slight variation as the heights with a minor difference in base diameter among the glasses of 3/16 of an inch, with one glass at 2 3/8 inches (or 2 6/16 inches), 3 glasses at 2 7/16 inches, 6 glasses at 2 1/2 inches (or 2 8/16 inches) and 2 glasses at 2 9/16 inches. In this Group A, the base diameters measure 2 7/16 inches for 2 glasses and 2 1/2 inches (or 2 8/16 inches) for the other 2 glasses. We read somewhere that some of these Heisey glasses were at least in part hand blown...we don't know for certain that our glasses were, but 7 of the 12 glasses do have tiny air bubbles that you can see in the glass on close inspection which usually indicates being hand blown (one glass in Group A, 2 glasses in Group B and all 4 glasses in Group C). That could also account for these slight differences in height and base diameter.

All 12 glasses came from the same older person's home. They are all clear glass and believed to be crystal and the glass does "ring" when tapped. The bowls have the optic effect often used by Heisey. They are not the diamond optic, but believe they may be what Heisey called their wide optic in that, while round, the bowls seem to have a 10 panelled effect with defined "soft line" ridges...these are not hard, sharp line ridges on the bowls. There are defined 4 line ridges, however, ringing the base of the bowls horizontally where they meet the stems and you can see two vertical lines made in manufacture or attaching these, one each on opposite sides of these rings. All the glasses also have two lines opposite each other which appear to be inside the glass of the base radiating outward from the stem (but can also sometimes be felt with a fingernail on the top of the base as a ridge), which look to us as if they were made in the applying of the stem to the base in manufacture. The stems have hard/sharp line ridges with a 6 panel effect, flaring out at the bottom to the simple round bases. All 12 glasses have the Heisey diamond raised insignia on one of the stem panels at the upper end where it meets the rings below the bowl. It is common for Heisey to have marked stemware in this location. While we are certain that they were manufactured with the raised "H" within this diamond, the H does not appear clearly within the diamond on all glasses. That is, the H itself is highly readable on some glasses and less readable (if readable at all) on others, but the diamond is fully visible on them all. We are guessing that Heisey had trouble making the H fully readable on all pieces when shown so small. We have provided 7 images of each glass grouping. The images of each group were taken of that specific group...we did not use the same images for everything...and you can see the differences among the three listings in how clear the Heisey marking was readable, how the glasses were placed/shot, etc. It was difficult to show the Heisey insignia so we provided two images of the best insignia that was readable in each group so you would know it is there. Please note that the white "hot spots" are reflections from the camera lighting on the glossy surfaces.

All 12 glasses are in very nice, highly usable condition but not mint...they were used and show expected minor use/age flaws. On the four glasses in Group A there are no rim chips (top and base rims) that we could see/feel, but on one glass we do see two tiny chips along one edge of the stem, measuring about 1/16 and 2/16 in length. We missed seeing and feeling these on earlier inspections so don't believe they are a problem most would notice, but you need to know they are there. On another glass there are two tiny dark line scratches on the topside of the base measuring about 1/32 and 1/16 inch in length. These glasses have as manufactured lines/striations in the glass which you can see at an angle in bright light on close inspection, tiny bubbles visible in one glass, some minor use/wear scratches (nothing bad but there are some) including some curved lines on the underside base of two glasses which may be scratches or light clear line staining (not visible when in use sitting on a table and only seen on very close inspection), dots in the glass, and other light wear. We are "picking these apart" for you since you can't see them in person; others would just say they have minor use flaws but are in very good overall usable shape with a great table look.

On one glass there is a low flat chip along the edge of the stem about 1/8 inch in length; on another glass there are two small line scratches on the stem where it meets the rings below the bowl. We missed seeing and feeling these on earlier inspections so don't believe they are a problem most would notice, but you need to know they are there. On one glass there is a series of tiny 1/16 inch long line scratches on the topside of the base near the outer rim as if the base of this glass was rubbed up against something else which scratched it in this manner (but not visible when sitting on a table).
