Produced by Vermont Mid-Century studio potter Stanley Ballard, a student of Glidden Parker at Alfred University in the 1940s who worked in the Burlington area, this is a standard shape for Ballard and carries the shape number 10. It is a huge vase made for a large bunch of flowers! The glaze is a white glaze which is speckled and shows some of the chocolate brown underglaze. This vase belonged at one time to someone named Cramer. One can still see the name on adhesive tape on the bottom. It is a large and practical Ballard design. It is in excellent shape. Add it to your Ballard or American Art Pottery collection today. |
