1940s MERRIMAC green wool felt turban / halo hat. Size 23.
Condition remains very good for age. No holes or tears in wool, just a few areas of faded dots on the back. Could easily be restored with green dye on these faint areas.
The diameter is 11 inches, and the hat measures approx. 6 inches deep.
Nice green decorative ribbon that is wire filled to hold it's shape.

Made of a small woven 4 inch ring covered in flowers enclosed in netting, then an attached 6 inch ring of wire covered with grosgain ribbon with 3 bows as the back band. 2 sewn in tags. Rare mid 1800s Victorian hat with braided horse hair decorative trim. Hat is in good to very good condition for age. 2 areas where covered wire that helps hold hat's shape are exposed, and ribbon tie has shredded at point where it ties under chin, but the hat fabric, lining and horse hair trim are all strong and intact.(I believe the ribbon tie is original, as it is part of a decorative bow on the back of the hat. Measures 9 by 6 inches, which dates it earlier in the 19th century. Buyer to pay shipping and ins. $6.00
 

Very large hat, made for larger head as well. The flat brim is 14.5 inches from front to back and 13 inches from side to side. The lined inside rim is approx. 24 inches around, which is quite large. The hat is 4 inches deep.
The condition remains very good for age, with the wool fur remaining in excellent condition. Some fraying at the end of the bow of the wide ribbon around the hat. Lining looks original buy had come loose and appears to have been restitched in place.
This hat would look best with lots of hair piled up underneath it. It is very nice.

This is a GREAT hat. Tightly woven dark blue straw, with wonderful silk emblems on the side. The best thing about this hat though is the size. It is large. I wear a size 22, and it loosely pulls all the way down on my head. Very deep hat with attached brim.
Condition is as found. The silk lining has been removed from the inside, but not the underside of the brim, and there is a border of metallic trim around each of the pleated silk emblems. Some of the trim is missing. Photographed.
The cloche measures just over 8 inches deep, and 22.5 inches around the inside of the rim. The brim extends out from there.
In spite of its listed problems, it is very wearable, and looks great!.

This is one of 4 hats from the estate of an actress/model last living in Seattle. The hat , measuring 21 inches wide by 16 inches from front to back, is made of firm woven netting, then bordered with straw embroidery, and covered with bundles of dried flowers in velvet bows. Wide pale green ribbons are fitted into open brim for support on the top of the head, then the ribbons hand down approx. 18 inches. This is a beautiful, custom made hat by designer ANGELINA from the 1930s. Buyer to pay shipping.
 

Made of black satin over a wire structure. Condition very good for age. Just some faint stains in the back of the ring. Cloth flowers are attached to a pin, so could be changed to refresh them a bit. This is one of the nicest hats I have seen. Made of tightly woven straw then an extend brim of netting over wire, with flowers inside the netting.
Very large in size, 19 inches in diameter, with 2 more inches of brim on the front than the back.
Elastic back band so the hat can be tilted at dramatic angles, covering half the face.
3 tags sewn inside, one saying 22 1/2, the other saying SUZY LEE MADE IN CALIFORNIA, and the 3rd saying MARTIN'S SAN DIAGO.

Great hat. Excellent condition. Orange red shade of red. The hat is a football shaped cap with red velvet trim and multiple felt backed leaf petals attached all the way around, then a long (23 inches) attached scarf. I would guess it to fit a size 22. Unmarked.

Very nice 1940s coffee brown wool hat with feathers under netting. Adjustable back band so hat can be worn on the front tilt.
Condition of the hat is excellent, with the exception of the ends of the hanging feathers being ruffled and wrinkles in the tied netting in back. The netting could easily be steamed into proper shape in back.

Great hat! Crown is rich black velvet, as is accent band brim, than rim is made of heavy gray with white irregular spots in a thick angora like wool felt.
Condition remains excellent for age. Elastic back band (which enables that dramatic tilt worn in the 40s) has been shortened with a tie in the elastic.
Since this hat is worn low on the head and tilted, size is not an issue.
The hat is 12 inches in diameter, and the depth is approx 4 inches at the crown.
Original box from HUDSONS' THE WOODARD SHOP (Detroit) remains in good condition. No cracks or tears, but evidence of age. Tie handles are frayed on the ends and some of the finish has rubbed off.
