Unusual Victorian "Flower Pot" hat of brownish/gray fabric. Rim is made of 6 puffy segmented areas, and dome is made over sturdy frame. Fully lined with maker's tag sewn inside. Hat fabric is strong and intact. (One tiny frayed area at top edge. Barely noticeable and some faint staining. Appearance still looks very good. Lining is excellent. It says THE C.E. WARD CO. REGALIA AND COSTUMES AND SUPPLIES NEW LONDON, OHIO. I would gather from this that it was made for theater.
Rim is 24 inches around on the inside, so it sits down on the head. It is 6 inches deep by 10 inches in diameter.
