Circa: 1950s
Beautiful 1950s vintage halter dress, similar in style to what Marilyn Monroe wore in the famous street vent photo. However, this dress has been through a great deal. When I found it, there was fading in the back of the skirt, so I dyed it black. It greatly decreased the visibility of the fading, but wreaked havoc on the seams. The fabric frayed at inside of seams, and some the the seams came apart. So....I took it to my tailor and begged her to try and repair it. She did. All the seams, including the hem has been resewn on sturdy fabric, so the dress is strong and wearable. Slight irregularity to back seam where it meets zipper, but all in all, it looks great. Other noted problems are that 9 of the 12 rhinestones are missing from the 3 front buttons, and the belt is missing.
I would approxamate this to be a size 6, with bust 35-36, waist 26, and full hips. The skirt is huge. Can be held out at ninety degrees from waist, and measures 200 inches around bottom. Measures 27 inches from waist to hem.
No reserve. US shipping $8.00.
**Please email any questions. I know it sounds scary, but it ended up in very good condition.
