1919 Delicious Vintage Jazz Age Ad- Kiddies Clap With Delight When Mama Serves Jell-o Coles Phillips Artwork
1919 Delicious Vintage Jazz Age Ad- Kiddies Clap with Delight when Mamma Serves Jell-O!- Coles Phillips Artwork. Absolutely Charming Original Vintage Jazz Age Ad taken from the pages of a January, 1919 issue of Ladies Home Journal Magazine. In the brief space of tow decades, no convenience food product held a greater place in the hearts of the American consumer than Jell-O Gelatin. Lauded and applauded during the war for it's practicality and simplicity, by 1919 it was once again viewed as the perfect desert treat for youthful palettes and adult dining alike. In this lovely image, artist Coles Phillips gives the viewer one of his most charming scenes: a dignified young mother serves her two happy laddies a quivering shimmering dish of Jell-O even managing to charm the birds from the trees by doing so. With Phillips eye for color and detail this is an absolutely delightful example of his fine artistry. Note the sheen of mother's gray satin gown, the immaculate white apron the wall-slats even the glorious blue and gold shading of the kiddies modern arts and crafts style table! Ad measures 12 x 17 and is in crisp clean bright condition overall- far more vivid than the scan might suggest! Will be wonderful on display with any decor- particularly suited to a child's room or the dinner table! All items at A Fine Madness Collectibles are guaranteed original Vintage, Antique Ads, Prints, Artwork, Postcards, Hollywood and Paper Ephemera- never reproductions or copies.
