Narrow Bridge, yellow.

This metal sign was put in the window to let the ice man know how much ice to bring up for the ice box. It is two sided with 75 and 100 pounds on one side and 25 and 50 pounds on the other. The sign is not a reproduction. It was found in the basement of the Old Terminal Cold Storage and Ice Company, Dayton, Ohio in the 1970-80 era. These are the original signs, never used. It has to keyhole shaped hangers and measures 3 7/8ths inches by 5 3/8ths inches. It has a few tiny scratches from rubbing against other signs but no rust.

THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL VINTAGE THE GREYS LITHOGRAPHED TIN CIGARETTE BOX MADE IN ENGLAND. THE EMPTY TIN ONCE HELD 20 CIGARETTES. MY BEST GUESS IS THIS TIN DATES TO WORLD WAR II ERA. THE INSCRIPTION ON THE BOX READS ROYAL SCOTS GREYS, THE GREYS, VIRGINIA CIGARETTES, LARGE SIZE, MADE IN ENGLAND BY THE PROPRIETORS FOR GODFREY PHILLIPS LTD. LONDON, ENG. THIS HANDSOME GREEN TIN MEASURES 4 INCHES LONG, 3 INCHES WIDE, AND 0.78 INCHES OF TALL. OVERALL IT IS IN EXCELLENT VINTAGE CONDITION, WITH LITTLE WEAR AND ONLY MINOR SCRATCHES. THE INTERIOR HAS A FEW DARKENED SPOTS ON THE SILVERY COLORED TIN FINISH, BUT THERE IS NO EVIDENCE OF RUST. THE INSIDE OF THE LID IS GOLD TINTED WITH THE HEAD OF A ROYAL SCOT GUARDSMAN. YOU COULD BE PROUD TO ADD THIS PIECE TO ANY TOBACCIANA COLLECTION OR ADVERTISING TIN SET.
