More Than McCoy

Manufacturer: unknown
Antique art glass framed painting. This is a thick piece of glass, (almost like a slag glass); not sure if you'd call this reverse painting, not really the same. It features a water lily in a pond scene. The frame is like old barnwood that was in really bad condition so I shabby chic'd it. I was going to keep it and hang it in my shabby chic room but it's too big for the area. You can see the old paper on the back indicating its age. I'd guess it dates to the late 1800's-early 1900's. The frame is 18.75 x 15.5 wide. It could be reframed or left as is. The glass is about 10 x 13.25. I do not see a signature on it but that could be under the frame area. It is a really attractive and unique piece of art glass! The reason I do not think it is reverse painting is because the reverse paintings I have seen have very thin paint over the glass, whereas this item is like solid glass or it is painted glass with an overlay glaze on it, not sure. Some ugly reverse paintings I viewed on-line are shown for $250-1200. 2/16
