lovely and antique English brooch with a large dark green red flecked bloodstone in the center, that has a scrolly M on the back engraved into the stone. The metal is probably 'pinchbeck', and the clasp is a hook. I would guess this is Victorian or older. What a wonderful addition to an antique jewelry collection. I wore this on a tweed jacket, and it looked superb. Measures 1 1/2 inches by 1 1/4 inches
