Please Take 50% Off The Featured Price. This is a decorative cast iron grill commonly called Garde-Fou by the French, typical from Paris during the Haussmanian period, used on windows to prevent from falling. Circa date 1870. Dimensions 10 high/ 32 long.

This fabulous and unusual figural fountain spout is done in the design of head of a seal or sea lion. It's done in a rich dark brown to black glaze. The squared base of the spout measures 5 3/4 square and is between 3/4 - 7/8 thick. The relief is extraordinary - 4 high. Although unmarked, this was most certainly made by a high quality Arts & Crafts Movement pottery / tile company. The clay was hand worked on the interior to help create the opening for the water. The work is good enough to have come from the Mueller Mosaic Tile Company. There are quite a few glaze flakes on the seal and the base. This is a neat set of tiles made by Claycraft Potteries. They were a California Arts square and is 3/4 thick. These were originally designed to be used in fireplaces, but could certainly be adapted for other projects. The design is a repeating 4 flower, vine and leaves. Some of the tiles are marked, and others are not. All are definitely Claycraft. These tiles all have some flaws, some minor and some a little more. A few have corner chips, most have some wear to high areas, two have large areas of chipping on the outside vertical areas. These are great if you want to do a restoration project, and outdoor area, a smaller table top. Some are in very decent condition - please do look through the photos. Please Take 50% Off The Featured Price. This is a very decorative terra cotta Jar made at Biot in the South of France. Biot is a small town located in the Provence area, nobody is really sure how old the city is, the first document referring to it was some manuscripts from the 11th century. Biot was mostly known during the 16th to the 18th century as a pottery center. In the middle part of the 20th century, Biot started to change its activity to glasswork for which the city is today well known. This boldly made Jar is typically decorated with a large frieze with geometrical patterns and the famous BIOT stamp. Note a large hole at the bottom to drain water. Minor chips can be seen here and there. Circa date 1950. Dimensions 18 high/ 15 diameter (base).

Made by the American Encaustic Tiling Company in Zanesville, Ohio, this tile is part of their Alhambra line. It's made from a hard white porcelain clay. The tile measures 6 high by 4 wide. It has a number on it, and depending on which way you orient this, it can be the number 6 (six) or the number 9 (nine). Bright robins egg blue background with the number in white. Made by the American Encaustic Tiling Company, in Zanesville, Ohio - this antique tile is part of their line of Alhambra tiles. It is simply the letter K. Measures 6 x 4 and is 1/2 thick. I've always thought of these as alphabet tiles ! Chip on upper left corner, backside upper right corner and minor nips on bottom corners. Circa 1910. This pair of lovely vintage solid cast brass andirons date from the early 1960s. Their C-scroll and floral design is well suited to any decor. Condition: never used [never subject to flames/heat]. Andirons bring back a classic tradition from a time when fireplaces were the heart of the home. Placed inside the fireplace, they hold the logs allowing sufficient air to circulate and thus prevent smothering the fire and making fires easier, safer and much more enjoyable.

This nicely molded tile by Claycraft Potteries of Los Angeles, California, measures 3 ¾ x 1 ¾ x 5/8 thick. The design is 3 bunches of flowers with a vine coming up out of a bowl. Hard to capture the subtle colors, the background is a brown slip, and the glazes are pale blue on the bowl and the tendril with leaves coming from the top. The two flowers on the left have some pink or salmon in the crevices. In generally very good condition - minor chip on left side edge. From the mid 1920's. This good looking old architectural piece is another finial or cupola topper. It is made of tin that was soldiered together and then attached to the peak of some type of finial. Likely this was once part of the peak on the tower of some old Victorian home or fastened to an old barn cupola. The tin is old and I have the feeling it is getting too brittle to last much longer outside in the elements, but could serve admirably in some indoor display. A rare old tin finial that likely dates to the roaring 20's.

Attractive raised line design - green majolica glaze background with a medium brown in the recesses. Classic Art Nouveau look. Measures 6 square. In very nice condition. What a cool glaze on this vintage hexagonal tile made by American Olean. Probably circa 1950's - this measures 7 1/2 point to point, and 6 1/2 across the flat sides. Brownish red clay body, it is 3/8 thick. The surface has a wavy feel - so it's not totally flat. In very nice condition - great for a coaster or trivet in your Retro house! This tile was made by two companies - Flint Faience and Empire (aka Owens). The main tile is 6 square - design is a basket overflowing with fruit. Done in wax resist method. Matte green background and additional matte glazes of yellow, orange, black deep cranberry mottled brown-orange. Excellent condition. 4 border tiles (each 6 x 1 ) in same matte glaze color as the interior diamonds on the basket - 4 small high glaze black corner tiles (one has a corner chip). Graceful antique stained glass window C.1890. This is much more beautiful than the bulk of simple windows that you tend to see these days. It is stained and painted glass. The panel has been nicely mounted in a sturdy oak frame for hanging in a window or in front of a light source. Size: 34 tall x 16 1/4 wide. Several small panes have cracks, but they are not that noticeable, because the detailed design of the window minimizes them. The overall appearance is beautiful. The lead is very solid and tight. This single bookend probably started out life as part of a fireplace mantle. Never mounted. Made by the California Art Tile Company of Richmond, California, circa 1930. This has mottled dead matte glazes of darkish blue-green and pale salmon. There are several small edge chips on this. Measures 5 7/8 high x 5 1/2 wide with a bottom profile depth of 2 7/8 . Fabulous green eosin glaze on this large Zsolnay tile. Measuring 9 1/8 square, this has a total thickness of 1 3/4 . The tile was made to be inset, probably into a stove or fireplace. See photo for the unusual back construction. Raised molded design with a central flower motif. Pyrogranite material. The age of this is unknown, and could possibly be new. Great Gift! Matted and ready to pop into a standard frame: 1937 Patent for the 1933 Patent Application by Buckminster Fuller to the Dymaxion Corp. =========================================== Some History of this Fabulous creation from the Net: Richard Buckminster Fuller conducted wind-tunnel test on three-wheeled teardrop shapes with a V shaped groove running under the vehicle. A rudder was also added to the vehicles and Fuller intended that this would unfold from the upper side of the tail and provide stability. In 1933 Fuller hired Starling Burgess, an naval architect and a crew of expert sheetmetal workers, woodworkers, former coach builders and machinist and they designed and built Dymaxion Car Number One which was shown publicly in July 1933. As a result of enclosing all the chassis and wheels in a streamlined shape Fuller is reported to have driven at 120 mph with a 90 hp engine. A conventional 1933 car would have required, Fuller estimated, at least a 300 hp engine. Fuller also claimed that fuel consumption of the Dymaxion car Number One was 30% less than a conventional car at 30mph and 50% less at 50mph. The two front wheels of the Dymaxion Car One were driven by a Ford V-8 engine. The single wheel at the rear was steerable. On Dymaxion Cars Number Two and Three an angled periscope was provided to help compensate for the lack of a rear window. Initially the car created vast attention where ever it went. However a British auto enthusiast flew to Chicargo to examine the Dymaxion car and when he was injured and his driver killed after the Dymaxion collided with another car the headlines in the press referred to the vehicle as a freak car and undermined its 3-wheeled design. Although an investigation exonerated the Dymaxion car the car received a bad reputation and the British group cancelled their order for Dymaxion Car Two. The Dymaxion Car Three was featured in the finale of Edward Hungerford's Wings of a Century pageant at the 1934 Century of Progress Exposition. The design of the Dymaxion cars was one of the biggest break throughs in automobile design since the car had originated some fifty years earlier. This is a beautiful old milk white opaque glass ball for a lightning rod. It is in mint condition except for the usual chips where the ends go into the metal caps. I will throw in one of the metal caps since one is all I have left.

This is a vintage light switch cover probably from the 60's. It is a black glossy finish over a heavy bronze or brass base metal. The cover is a little larger than the usual switch cover. The cover is marked M.C. Comp EDMAR40. The cover, in good shape, could use a new paint finish which I will leave to the next owner.
