This exquisite lusterware cerise pedestal cup and saucer with Roman figures on white porcelain with gold gilt trim still has the original label on the bottom of the saucer that is marked: Made in Japan. It also has the crossed arrows a mark used by Arnart and the #2285.
Arnart was founded in 1953 in Japan to produce porcelain art, and had offices on 5th Avenue in New York, the Arnart 5th Ave. mark was introduced 1957.
In new condition, as you can see by the label attached which I have shown in my pictures, the cup measures 4 1/2 inches high, 2 5/8 inches across the rim and 1 5/8 inches across the base while the saucer is 4 3/4 inches in diameter.
