Elegant 1935 Vintage Deco Ad- Chic Couple Excitedly Choose Virginia Hot Springs For Ideal Vacation - Schroeder Artwork
Elegant 1935 Vintage Deco AD- Chic Couple Excitedly Choose Virginia Hot Springs for Ideal Vacation Spot!-Schroeder Artwork. Simply Divine Original Vintage Deco Ad taken from the pages of a Spring, 1935 issue of Fortune Magazine. Aside from some of the finest articles and photographs published in the glittering, yet thought-provoking deco era, Fortune also featured many of the most exciting and stunning American based ad campaigns as well. Wondrous image has all the artful simplicity of this regal age- enthusiastic couple in superb evening attire, clasp hands, raise eyebrows in delight and plan their ideal vacation to the restful, resplendent Homestead at Virginia Hot Springs. One of the most fashionable American watering-holes for the chic, the elite and the remnants of the well-to-do, The Springs was noted for it's natural beauty, healing waters and restful environs. Located deep in the heart of Virginia, the ad waxes rhapsodic regarding the hospitality, graciousness and sheer heavenly aura of this magnificent spot. Interesting copy gives a friendly nod to the idea of the Depression leaving people a bit disheveled and distraught- citing a journey to the Springs as restorative to nerves and as effervescent as any doctor's tonic. The resort of Virginia Hot Springs with it's cooling vistas, did have actual restorative powers as the Crystal Cascades contained natural sources of lithium in the waters. Ad created by artist, Schroeder, is absolutely stunning in person. Note that the reps for the Homestead can be found in noteworthy locales such as the Ritz-Carlton, New York and the Mayflower Hotel on nearby Washington. Simply gorgeous ad with all the flair of the inimitably divine deco era. Measures 12 x 16-condition is crisp and bright in person. All items at A Fine Madness Collectibles are guaranteed original Vintage, Antique Ads, Prints, Artwork, Postcards, Hollywood and Paper Ephemera- never reproductions or copies. 1928 Sensational Vintage Deco Ad- Joan Crawford MGM's Alluring New Star prefers Allen-A Hosiery for Flawless Shapeliness! Fantastic Find. Very Early Original Deco image of superb star Joan Crawford taken from the May 12, 1928 issue of Saturday Evening Post Magazine. By early 1928, Joan Crawford was fast gaining a reputation as a dazzling party girl the epitome of the flapper with a will force and determination to succeed, a new woman about to conquer not only Hollywood but the Universe! Beautiful, alluring lively and talented young Joan won dance contests at the Ambassador Hotel's infamous Coconut Grove which led to her tremendous success in the film, Our Dancing Daughters helping to create the image of Deco perfection for the viewers of the silver screen. 1936 Dazzling Deco Ad- Platinum Blonde Parmamount Star Ida Lupino Uses Admiracion Shampoo
1936 Dazzling Vintage Deco Ad- Bewitching Platinum Blonde Ida Lupino Star of Paramount Pictures Film Anything Goes Keeps Hair Glossy and Glorious with Admiracion Shampoo! Young, fresh and utterly lovely new star on the scene Ida Lupino is seen here touting the various virtues of keeping locks lovely, with Admiracion Shampoo. Paramount was uncertain exactly what to do to tap into the talents of this unforgettable actress but decided to give her the glamour girl treatment by presenting her in light comedies with platinum blonde hair. Her appearance in Anything Goes was one of the few times she portrayed a British character or appeared in a fairly frothy musical. While Lupino looked lovely as a platinum blonde it was not until her departure from both Paramount and the locks that she began to be cast in the types of roles she was absolutely born to play: serious, dramatic femme fatales and some of the toughest dames to ever emerge on-screen. Wonderfully novel ad from her early days, uncommon image sure to delight any fan of the great actress Ida Lupino. Note that she co-starred with Broadway sensation Ethel Merman and crooner extraordinaire Bing Crosby. Image is half page and measures 11 x 15- will be swell with any decor. 1934 Slick Vintage Deco Ad- Dapper Deco Gents Enjoy Lockerroom Libation of Penn Maryland De Luxe Blended Bourbon Al Parker Artwork. Incredibly Snappy and Sleek Color Graphic in Original Vintage Art Deco Ad taken from the pages of an October, 1934 issue of Fortune Magazine. Done in a bright-hued palette featuring bold scarlet and vivid yellow this is artist Al Parker at his best- vivid, vital and exciting yet simple and dramatic. A group of very well-heeled gents enjoy a smooth libation of Penn Maryland Blended Bourbon and soda- (note the elegant siphon in etched glass)following a rousing game of golf. All four sport very natty threads- one has a scarf wound round his neck while the others wear tweeds and bright sweaters or vests- all are Esquire-worthy in their attire- note the white belt at the waist of the white at temples redhead and the polo shirt of the gent we see in profile. Liquor ads went out of their way to celebrate their renewal of ad space following prohibition always focusing attention on the best people and their imbibing habits showing them with great grace and flair often in sleekly sophisticated urban surroundings. Artist Al Parker gives this image a terrific blast of originality and dash- and is a perfect representation of his prolific works and talents. Ad only appeared within the pages of Esquire and Fortune and is thus rare. Measures 12 x 16 some wear to the edges which will not show once it has been matted and framed. 1935 Delectable Vintage Deco Fashion Page- Chanel and Mainbocher Interpret the Mode's New Spirit Spring goes Romantic in Sheer Lace Crisp Taffeta. Delightfully Chic Original Vintage Deco Tinted Fashion Illustration taken from the pages of a May, 1935 issue of Good Housekeeping Magazine. While noted today for her simple spare elegance Chanel also had a soft feminine even frilly romantic side- especially evident in this lovely fashion illustration from the spring of 1935. Long and lean in delicate rose and cerise shades with capelet collar and ribbon trimmed waistline this is the epitome of evening chic for the dramatic deco dame. Next to the Chanel creation is a new gown by Mainbocher with puffed sleeves in floral figured pink and red taffeta- note the tight waistline and the voluminous waterfall hemline trimmed in crisp pleats shown with a wreath of rosettes on the sculptured curls done by hairdresser extraordinaire Antoine. This is a fantastic example of the grace and sophisticated style of Deco evening wear as seen by two of the shining stars of the Parisienne scene. Great example of the softer side of the Chanel look; note the pin-tucks, ribbons and sheer chiffon sleeves and neckline! Page measures 9 x 13 and is in crisp clean bright condition overall. Will be incredibly chic and stunning on display with any decor.
