Art Nouveau

Art Nouveau flavored flowers are applied to a round buckle pin of hammered brass which is all shined up. 2 inches in diameter, it has a C clasp and is in very good condition.

Beautiful Art Nouveau sash pin has a gold finish, openwork and a lovely and unusual bar of amethyst cut glass, bezelset and open backed. 3/4 x 1 3/4 inches, C clasp, excellent condition.

Another Art Noveau sash pin - this one with an oval purple cut glass stone in a bezeled setting. Gilded finish polishes nicely. Pin measures 2 3/4 x 1 3/4 with a 7/8 inch stone. It has a tiny chip on right top edge but it fits right in with the facets - not noticeable. Stone is not set entirely straight either - proves that it is handmade. Price considers these boo-boos.

This tiny gold-filled pin has an Arts and Craft flavor - or maybe we'll just stick with Nouveau. I do mean tiny too - 1 1/6 x 5/8 makes it just right for a collar. C clasp - Very good condition.

This is the nicest Art Nouveau pin to have come my way in a very long time - and it is in very good condition! It is long - about 4 1/4 inches and narrow - a little over 1/2 inches, perfect for angling across a blazer lapel, wide collar or cowlneck. Leaves curl and twist from each end toward the rectangular bezelset amethyst cut glass stone which has a partially open back to permit maximum light to stone. Gold finish polished to a nice sheen. C clasp.

This beautiful oval brooch with purple bezel set stone looks like it was just cast in an Art Nouveau studio - it is flawless! The heavy gold fill appears shiny and like new and the amethyst glass stone is unblemished. Measuring 3 1/4 x 2 1/8 inches, this pin is an impressive sight - would look great on a blazer. C clasp.

Nice old cast metal and gold-filled watch pin with twining and knotting vines. Notice the not-so-fierce animal at the base of pin - I believe it is a tiger but without my glasses, I think it looks a bit like Elsie the Borden Cow! C clasp looks like it may have been resoldered but doesn't show on front. Sturdy hook for watch, very good condition, measures 1 3/8 x 7/8.

Another brooch from the Art Nouveau period. Large sash pin of cast brass has a rough textured surface and open center. Leaves, vines and flowers twine across the opening and 2 very large tear-shaped cabachons of amethyst glass are bezel set. Measures 3 1/2 x 2 1/8, with 1 1/4 inch stones, gold-filled with C clasp. Purple stones have been polished to remove any scratches so condition is very good.

Large Art Nouveau brooch with nicely cut oval amethyst glass stone in center is gold-filled and has a cast metal oval frame around center stone which is textured and more rosy colored. Heavy decorative prongs hold the oval in center of heavy stamped brass frills. Pin measures about 3 1/4 inches by 2 inches, has a C clasp and is in very good condition.

Pretty Art Nouveau pin or brooch of flowing diamond shape with an amethyst glass oval in bezel setting. Brass setting measures 2 1/2 x 1 inch and has a C clasp. Amethyst stone is cut and open in back and has only the tiniest scratches, seen with a loupe.

One of my favorites - small Art Nouveau pin with open-backed purple stone bezel set in an asymetrical gold-filled setting. No damage to stone, has a C clasp and measures 1 3/8 x 3/4.

Art Nouveau pendant has black glass surrounded by green, white and purple stones - Suffragette colors. I'm not sure if this is a genuine old piece or a genuine old reproduction from the 30's, but I know it is quite unusual and very showy. The 18 inch chain is a style I cannot find even in a supply catalog and that, plus the large spring clasp with no trigger makes me think it is old. The pendant measures 2 x 2 1/2 inches and the round bezel-set black glass is nearly an inch in diameter. The two purple stones and single pink and green stones are bezel-set also. Necklace has a flat finished antique gold tone and is in excellent condition.
