1906 Charming Vintage Art Nouveau Howard Chandler Christy Scribner's Illustration Elegantly Attired Couple Attend Garden Party Fete. Simply Exquisite Original Vintage Art Nouveau Color Magazine Illustration done by Howard Chandler Christy for a 1906 issue of Scribner's Magazine. Wonderfully light, bright and elegantly romantic image created by Christy one of the leading pretty-girl artists of the Art Nouveau period. Artist Christy discovered a penchant for creating beautiful slightly cool yet approachable women in a variety of settings from contemporary to historical and rivaling the works of Gibson at a time when pretty-girl art was of paramount interest to a large viewing populace. This image was done for a short story in a spring, 1906 issue of Scribner's Magazine and is typical of his lovely sense of grandeur, romance and charm- a formal couple are having a walk-out at a garden party fete- note her slender figure with it's impossibly minuscule waistline and his stalwart stature- they are also mirrored in the background by a similar image of an older couple with intricate details such as the home in the background and the festive Chinese lanterns in gorgeous array of colors. Christie's style was crisp and formal, he often left half the page white to emphasize the drama of the scene. Illustration measures 7 x 11 and is in excellent bright overall condition. 1945 Vintage WW2 Original Alajalov Sat Evening Post Cover Art Soldier on a date. Charming artwork done by Alajalov with his usual flair and humor features a juke-joint setting and a very enthusiastic soldier trying to impress his cool blonde date with his feats of derring-do on the battlefield. Hmm she looks a little skeptical Great use of light, color and texture- note the cozier couples in wild abandon on the dance floor in the background. This is a fine example oh his work and the mood following the triumphant victorious end of WW2. Condition is good overall some edgewear but bright and pretty in person- measures 11 x 14. 1959 Fabulous Vintage Mid-Century Original National Parks Map Page- Animated Cadigan Artwork. Absolutely Delightful Mid-Century Map Page taken from a Summer, 1959 issue of Holiday Magazine. Traditional Cartography was given a modern twist with a bit of whimsy during the days of the Mid-Century. As Americans renewed their interest in continental travel, artists and illustrators created clever, witty and engagingly animated map pieces, perfectly suited to a youthful spirit embracing the world of cartoons and animation. 1933 Delightful, Delicious, Delovely Vintage Art Deco John LaGatta Magazine Illustration- Charmed Couple Court Among the Blossoms. Elegant and Utterly Charming Original Vintage Art Deco John La Gatta Magazine illustration taken from the pages of a February, 1933 Ladies Home Journal Magazine. Artist La Gatta is at his absolute best here, pulling out all the stops to present a charmed, gorgeous couple in the midst of a little springtime courting. Equally adept at pin-up glamour and more sedately romantic subjects, La Gatta's work was heavily featured in many of the high-gloss magazines of the dazzling Deco period often adding it's own spectacular beauty and grace. Vintage c.1910 Harrison Fisher signed postcard the Honeymoon. Published by Reinthal and Newman and Charles Scribners Sons. Unused, but is mounted on a backing at one end, could be removed carefully. Has some edge and corner wear, has an indented scratch at the bottom. Has 1 stain on the left middle edge. Defects could be hidden by a good mat. Great for completing a set!
