Very attractive framed chromolith from the Fine Arts Studio. This piece dates to the 1890's or so when these floral and scenic prints were all the rage. The print has the appropriate bumps and dots which are identifying features of chromos. This one is titled NATURE'S MIRROR and is #8774. These were often done in series. The print's only detractions are some water stains on the lower portion of the matting not affecting the print itself. ORIGINAL frame measures are 11 5/8 x 14.

Size is 5 7/8 in.x8 3/4 in.. Condition-the top & bottom edge have been cut, there are some acid stains as seen in the photo, some foxing, no tears or holes. Drawing room, Aston Hall, Warwickshire : lithograph with bodycolor (8½ x 12½ ) in old mahogany frame. Signed and dated ( 1850 ) en bloc bottom center. In the early part of his career, Nash concentrated on illustrative work and genre scenes, as well as picturesque architectural subjects. His success was largely due to the large sets of lithographs which he published that were of high standard and that combined architectural fidelity with historical romanticism. Today his lithographs, usually brushed generously with bodycolor and frequently misidentified as watercolors, are considered to be excellent early examples of the art and are eagerly collected. Note: other similar lithographs by Nash, attractively framed, are also available (see pictures # 3-5). Listed: Ben; Dav; Ma.
