Lovely White Feather Indian Maiden Princess Oval Print
Lovely ORIGINAL VINTAGE LITHOGRAPH artwork picture of an INDIAN MAIDEN PRINCESS. I call her White Feather. She is dressed in a purple dyed skin dress, lovely long braided black hair, is creating artwork on the skinned and dried animal hide. A white feather tipped adorns the beaded headband. I believe this lithograph was probably artwork on a calendar. For you can see at the very top the horizontal lines that could be created by the glue line along the top and being taken off the calendar. Is not terribly distracting, she really is the focal point. Also a slight crease/white line in print by the top of her head. It is lovely, vivid attractive picture. ****So this print is priced lower accordingly.***** ***(((PLEASE NOTE THE FRAME IS NOT FOR SALE. JUST SHOWN AS AN EXAMPLE.***)))) The print measures an oval approx. 6-1/4 x 8-1/8 inches. LOVELY DISPLAYABLE ARTWORK. Check out my other ORIGINAL/VINTAGE FRAMED items! Gorgeous Calendar Print-roy Best-lady In Red W/ Rose
Alluring Blonde Bombshell-*****RARE LITHOGRAPH PRINT***** ROY BEST. Beautiful lady, dressed in an off the shoulder HOT RED DRESS, sitting on a lounge chair holding a single long stem rose. Striking illustration of a lovely Art Deco PIN-UP Flapper Girl that was so popular in the early 1900s. Of course the artist that made these ladies so popular was ROY BEST. The background is a striking deep black which compliments the entire lithograph. Believe this print dates around the 1920's, is the thicker calendar paper stock. Back has illustration, which indicates that this was on a calendar. Vibrant hues as shown in our photos, not the harsher white flash from my camera. Is wonderfully VIVID and VIBRANT. In Wonderful Condition. ******You can see the the very top a production hole for hanging. Some clear dried glue in some spots. Mostly by the right by the arm of chair and on her dress.**** Wonderful artwork very suitable for framing. Measures 6-1/8 inches wide by 7-5/8 inches high. Beautiful illustration ready to be framed. Don't miss out on this fabulous period lithograph. You will be pleased with this lithograph. (Sorry for the glare on the black background from my camera.) Thanks for visiting DOGWOOD TRAIL ANTIQUES

Vintage Heran Chaban Large Framed Print
Large vintage framed print. It is signed Heran Chaban or Charan, and #66 in left corner below picture. It might be a water color, but the signature is in pencil below the print, so I assume this is a print. The hardwood frame has an old label on back: Frames Rigildeo, Oil Paintings Restored, Rose Frame Shop, 1428 Brush Street, Det. 26 Mich., WO-3-0354. Note the old State abbreviation on it: Mich vs MI. Nice overall vintage condition. It is 24.5 tall x 28.25 wide. It is hard to get a really good photo of it because of the old glare glass, (you should replace the glass with non-glare glass). Taos Artists) - Instructor Picture Study Series Light soil and edgewear to folders, prints near fine. art works from a teaching series, being Taos Indian Roasting Corn by E. Irving Couse. The art is accompanied by a description of the sort. It is interesting to observe that the curve of the Indian's back, as he crouches down, makes a line which draws our eye toward the fireplace and roasting corn in the open pit fireplace. Print is in VERY FINE CONDITION. You can see on the left white margin of a light water stain and through top upper left corner. But so faint is hard to miss. Either way, these works from this artist are hard to obtain. Great Collectible!! He was a meticulous artist, making extensive notes on costumes, tools, behavioor, ornaments, and landscapes, which he applied to his depictions of Indians weaving, hunting, shelling corn, courting, and performingpany. religious ceremonies. You will be very pleased with this classic artwork. This particular print is listed on page 98 in Vintage Illustration by Rick and Charlotte Martin. Measures 6-3/4 inches wide by 8-7/8 inches high. GREAT ANTIQUE ARTWORK. Goodwin did magazine covers and illustration almost exclusively during the early years of his career. Brown & Bigelow, Thomas D. Murphy Company, and Gerlach-Barklow Company all used Goodwin prints on their calendars from the 1920s on. His specialty was without a doubt outdoor sports scenes and hunting scenes. He is considered one of the masters in this genre and Goodwin fans are extremely avid fans. He traveled extensively to remote parts of the United States and Canada and became familiar with big game hunting, the life of the cowboy, and Indian culture. He developed a friendship with Charles Russell and was a frequent visitor at Russell's Lazy KY ranch. The influences of Russell and Frederic Remington are evident in Goodwin's paintings. One can also detect the influence of the years spent under Howard Pyle, particularly in the use of dramtic scenes and figures in prints depicting logging, canoeing, and trapping. Prints like the * Cruisers * and * Taking the Trail * show definite influence from the Brandywind School. ****Will be listing THE CRUISERS print soon. Framed 'out Where The West Begins' By Arthur Chapman ..
This framed poem by Arthur Chapman is put out by the Cincinnati Art publishing Co. and measures 4 3/4 inches by 6 3/4 inches. Arthur Chapman was born in Rockford, Illinois in 1873; and he was educated there in public schools. He lived there until 1895 when he married and moved to Chicago. There, he was a reporter on the Chicago Daily News. three years later, he moved to Denver, Colorado where he was a reporter and columnist on the Denver Republican for 15 years. Out Where The West Begins Out where the handclasp's a little stronger, Out where the smile dwells a little longer, That's where the West begins; Out where the sun is a little brighter, Where the snows that fall are a trifle whiter, Where the bonds of home are a wee bit tighter, That's where the West begins. Out where the skies are a trifle bluer, Out where friendship's a little truer, That's where the West begins; Out where a fresher breeze is blowing, Where there's laughter in every streamlet flowing, Where there's more of reaping and less of sowing, That's where the West begins; Out where the world is in the making, Where fewer hearts in despair are aching, That's where the West begins; Where there's more of singing and less of sighing, Where there's more of giving and less of buying, And a man makes friends without half trying - That's where the West begins.
