Hatpins and Holders

This is an antique English hat pin or hatpin with a silver plated metal ball top or finial. The hatpin is 6 inches long overall, ball .65 inch in diameter. The pin is in excellent condition. The hatpin was made in England in the 1910-1920s.

Vintage Art Nouveau hatpin, sterling top though not marked. I used to have another exactly like it that was marked sterling. Pin shank may have been replaced, looks like brass. Total length is 3 inches, 3/4 in. across the top. It is tarnished but no other problems. Great for gift-giving!

This is a pretty hand made 10kt solid gold stick pin or lapel pin with a heart shape and an a 3 point round diamond set in a flower in the center of the heart. The pin is 2.5 inches long overall, the head is .5 inch high by .5 inch wide and is stamped 10kt. The stickpin or stick pin was made 1920-1930s and weighs .8 grams of gold without the stone. A lovely accent pin.

This is a set of 3 1920s hair pins which includes a marke faux tortoise shell comb from France with a rhinestone top, a red plastic sandwich hairpin of plastic layers on a metal center with hand painted floral design and a small faux tortoise shell hair pin. The hairpins measure 4 inches, 3 inches and 2 inches long and are in very good +++ condition. There is a bit of wear to the red hairpin painted decoration, and the metal sides of the hairpin were originally gold plated which must have been very pretty, but most of the plating has worn off. A great antique set of pins.

Very attractive hand painted hat pin pink roses holder. Marked on bottom: Limoges China. I think this might be an American Limoges item, c:1900-1955. It stands 5.25 tall x 2.75 wide at bottom. This is an antique English hat pin or hatpin with a gold filled finial like the top of a walking cane that has applied twisted gold filled rings. The hatpin is 6 inches long overall with the finial measuring 5mm long by .25 inch or 8mm in diameter. The pin is in excellent condition. The hatpin was made in England in the 1890-1900.

This is an antique hatpin or hat pin with half ball shape top of prong set chaton rhinestones mounted on a metal disc with metal finial attachment. The hatpin measures 10 inches long, the head is .75 inch deep by 1 inch in diameter and was made 1890-1910. The rhinestones are hand set into a soldered mesh framework that has discolored causing the rhinestones to look dark. There is one very minor dent in the mesh which can be seen in the photos. A lovely hatpin.

This is an antique art deco design hatpin dating to 1930-1940s with an enameled and gold plated metal stylized tulip shape top. The hatpin measures overall 5 inches long and the top is 2.15 inches long by 2 wide. There is also a small black glass faceted bead below the tulip. A wonderfully elegant art deco accent for your hat.

This is an antique stickpin, stick pin or lapel pin with a bezel set moonstone made in England in the 1910-1920s. The pin measures 1.75 inches long and is in very good conditioin but has lost most of it's gold plating. A pretty little accent piece.

This is an antique hatpin or hat pin with a black sequin or sequined ball at the top. The hatpin measures 4 inches long and was made 1890-1910 and may be a mourning hatpin, worn during the year long Victorian mourning period. The sequined ball is slightly soft if you squeeze it and may be filled with horsehair which was a common practice during that period and measures is 1.5 inches in diameter. A lovely hatpin.

This is an antique hatpin or hat pin with a turquoise painted wood tear drop shaped top that has a rotating prong set rhinestone ball at the very top. The hatpin measures 8 inches long and was made 1890-1910. The turquoise wood tear drop is 1 inch long by .5 inch in diameter. A lovely hatpin.

Lidded Jar, Tuxedo Duck, Takahashi. this jar is 5 tall. He is dressed in a tuxedo with a red bow. The combination of colors i.e; yellow, red and black, increase the attractive coloring of the piece. It is in excellent condition, with a partial Takahashi label.

Very beautiful, hand painted and artist signed feminine hatpin holder. Signed K Meyer? not sure. It stands 4.5 tall x 2.5 wide. It is hollow and open on bottom; you can stuff it with flower foam and put a piece of felt on bottom if you want. This is an estate sale item; not sure of its age but it sure is pretty! 3/10esa#

This box has the look of celluloid with a wonderful scene of a couple on top and great legs to make the box look victorian.  The box measures 5 across, 3 1/2 wide and 2 1/2 high.  Inside is a little worn, but in great condition.

Exquisite hand painted hat pin holder. It has a red Nippon backstamp, but this stamp is not a genuine Nippon mark, (hourglass symbol instead of an 'M'). However, it is hand painted porcelain, and the painting on it is exceptionally nice. No chips or cracks, and stands 5 inches tall x 2.25 wide. Lidded Condiment Jar, Takahashi, San Francisco. This cute jar is 4 1/2 tall and 3 1/2 wide. It is beautifully embossed with a tropical fish--coral reef scene. A piece of coral is the handle. The lid has a hole for a spoon. All handpainted, it is in very good condition with the Takahashi mark and a paper label.

Antique Gold Plated Brass Hat Pin Initial N 15 inch. Lovely old 15 inch long hat pin with a 3/4 inch X 1/2 oval. It is Gold Plated and has an inscribed or etched Initial N in the center. Oval is surrounded by a fine ribbed edge which looks beaded from the top view. The pin has a bend just behind the oval - I am not certain if that is original or happened sometime during use. There is just a teenie bit of corrosion speck on one end of oval edge and some super light usage scratches. Pin is slightly curved - not perfectly straight. It is elegant - would look fabulous in a huge Victorian or Edwardian Hat.

Wonderful two prong hair ornament with faux diamonds in the shape of a horse shoe.  The hairpin is 4 long and the prongs are made out of bakelite.  In excellent shape.

Terrific 1960s burgandy jewelry box in excellent shape. Box measures 10 long 8 wide, and 3 1/2 in depth. The burgandy velvet inside is in excellent shape as if no one used it. Overall condition of box is excellent.

Wonderful vanity set made out of lucite. The powder container does have something spilled in it like nail polish. Might be able to get it out. Wasn't sure what to use, so I did not try. Container is 4 in diameter and has a lid. Has Tusculor on the bottom. Hair container is the same size and is in good shape. Just some stains from wear. Could be cleaned up easily also. Comb is 8 long and is bad shape. Beveled mirror is 12 long and 7 wide. In excellent shape.

There are two small stones missing but you really have to look for them. It measures 6 5/8 long and the ball is 7/8 wide. I have several unique hat pins and hats. Vintage hatpin. This is a rather neat old hatpin. It has a brass stem, (heavy duty), and a white milk glass? top with rhinestone center. It is 8.75 inches long and in good vintage condition. Pic 5 is an inexpensive, but cool way to display your vintage hatpins and jewelry; stuff a vintage glove and tie a ribbon on the open end!

Remember the smell from your grandmother? Dorothy Gray Body Powder in the scent of Figurine. Avon sachet is Quarintance. Both are full, have never been used. As an extra will throw in the tiny perfume bottle with the cutest little cap. Figurine container has some damage on the lid, but otherwise all are in excellent shap.

Antique hatpin. A lovely old hatpin featuring a black egg shaped top. This was likely made when Queen Victoria was in mourning and black jewelry became the fashion. It is in good condition and is 9 long.

Victorian hatpin. Stunning hatpin featuring a purple glass stone that is likely an amethyst. It has an elegant gold metal filigree surround, and a very long stem. It measures 12 long, and the top piece is about 2.5 x 2. The metal is still quite bright so I am wondering if this is 10k gold, except I cannot find any stamp marks on it. The stone has a chip on it, but this is not really noticeable unless trying to see it. This hatpin is quite stunning displayed in a vintage hatpin holder, or you could actually use it! The queen of your hatpin collection! Most of the hatpins being sold are from the licquidation of two antique dealers estates in Bloomf. Hills, MI at a Boos Gallery auction. Frank Boos; was one of the original appraisers who used to be on the 'Antiques Roadshow'.
