Illinois State Penitentiary Stateville softcover booklet approximately 5.5 x 8.5 written by Joseph E. Ragen, Warden (1936-1961). It was ...prepared to give the public some information as to the operation of the Illinois State Penitentiary, Joliet-Stateville Branch, the inmates' mode of living and the training given them so that when they are releases they may take their place in society as useful citizens. There is no date but looks mid 1930s from the images. Lots of black and white images inside. Covers have some age soiling consistent with age. Looks like someone restapled the booklet together as the original staples are missing.
