The look virtually unused. Both have nice thumbtab indentations along the edge. The cardboard sleeve, while protecting these cookbooks very well, is a little rough, with edge scrapes and water marks, but nice logo/sticker on the front.

The recipes are fabulous and easy. There is a Mongole Pea and Tomato soup that is out of this world as is the Stewed Chicken and Sauteed Romaine. This cookbook also tells you what size of cookware should be used for what type of cooking. It is a wonderful first cookbook for an adult. There are 160 pages.
