    If you love to see what life looked life 50 years ago, then you love the vintage cookbooks and magazines. This book is a paperback from the Wilton Company circa 1956. It shows the different decorating tips and what they can do. There are some fun cakes too, a drum, a ragdoll cake a New Year's cake (all round with just decorations and a cake with a Christmas tree on it. The paperback book has 21 pages.

    Oxmoor House Little Cook Book Of Holiday Appetizers
    I am always at a loss for what to make for appetizers. This little book has been a real saving grace. I use mine all the time. The recipes on the front are Artichoke-parmesan phyllo bites and Cocktail Quiches. There is a honey mustard brie that I just love and a roasted garlic spread that always disappears first. The book is little - just 24 pages but one of the best I have found.

    This cookbook is a duplicate of one in my own collection. I love Chef Prudhomme's way with seasoning. This is a large hardback, in average condition - meaning it was used and loved. The original jacket is here but a bit dirty. The book is clean and has over 300 pages of fabulous recipes.

    This gorgeous hardbook cookbook was written in 1973 and reprinted in 1976. It is wholly devoted to sweets and puddings and has elegant but fairly easy to make desserts. The pictures are amazing as are the recipes. There is a Viennese Coffee cake that is to die for. But there Ginger Ale Fruit Jello is a hit at my house. The book has 64 pages of different, wonderful dishes.

    This great full color softbound cookbook is one of a series of best regional dishes. I have not run into these before and was excited to try some traditional Texas Recipes made easy. And they were too. I tried the Fried Chicken with Cream Gravy and boy was that good. Within the 32 pages are recipes such as Corn Pudding, Apple Cake, Yeasted Rosemary Bread with Raisins, Spit Roasted Lamb and King Ranch Chicken Casserole.

    This great full color hardback cookbook is one of the best I have found for Crockpot, Slow Cooker Recipes. It has 94 large pages and covers the basics plus recipes for Appetizers and Beverages, Main Courses, Soups and Sides and Breads and Desserts. There isn't a recipe in her you won't like. My favorites include Thai Turkey and Noodles, The Chili con Queso and Rustic Potatoes au Gratin.

    New York Times Large Type Cook Book
    The New York Times Large Type Cook Book by Jean Hewitt, Published by Golden Press New York, Copyright 1968, unstated first edition. This indexed, 446 page cookbook has nice, large, dark print and is perfect for those who have to keep their reading glasses handy when they cook, or for anyone who has messed up a recipe by mis-reading the tiny type and used the wrong measurements. The author claims the tested recipes in the book were selected from the best that have appeared in the New York Times, ranging from simple to exotic. The hardcover book has no dust jacket and some very slight edge and corner wear to the cloth cover, otherwise it's in excellent condition with no tears, writing, or stains.     This hard cover cookbook has some of the best hints and recipes for salad making that I have ever read. The book, written in 1968, starts out with a discussion of the various type of greens and rapidly proceeds to common and not so common recipes. There is a recipe for Tobboule and a wonderful recipe for apple potato salad. My favorites are the homemade dressings, though. There are 210 pages of delicious and different types of recipes.

    Bertolli Healthy Olive Oil Recipes
    My most favorite cookbooks are those put out by the manufacturers to showcase their products. This one is from Bertolli the Olive Oil manufacturer and has 21 pages of light and healthy recipes using olive oil. There are of course some Italian recipes, but the best ones are not. There is a Tuna , cucumber and red pepper salad that is out of this world and the Poppy Seed Dressing for Fresh fruit is outstanding.
