This yellow bird decoration was one of the first plastic decorations made by the Bradford Novelty Company in 1940 after the war.
Bradford was one of the pioneers in this field, since the source of glass ornaments was eliminated during the war years, Mr.Jack Burnbaum, founder of this company was the first person in this country to develop plastic items to hang on a tree. They were vacuum plated to create a shiny appearance made to resemble their glass counterparts, but were unbreakable.
As proven by this yellow canary with green feather wings and tail with his red beak.
In very good condition he measures 2 1/4 inches tall, 4 inches long and 1 inch wide. An addition to any Vintage Plastic or Christmas Ornament Collection.
