Circa: early 1900's
Condition: Good++
Manufacturer: Buck Brothers Worcester, MA.
This is a nice carving chisel that was part of a large collection of mostly English chisels like S.J. ADDIS, HERRING etc.. This one is V-shaped (long bent front) parting chisel. It is marked by the maker, "BUCK BROS." on the steel, a well known American tool maker. We note the quality of the steel is very good, and the condition of the chisel is also very good, ready to use. It measures a 5/16" wide at the widest point of the cutting edge, and is 9.6" long overall. The fruitwood handle is nice looking and in very solid condition with a study brass ferrule. A nicely designed, quality made, carving chisel!
