Antique Junction

Souvenir piece from what I'm assuming was a Convention of some sort presented by ALCAN in Toronto Canada the days of May 30 to June 10th in 1955. The front has the initials C.I.T.F. (Canada International Trade Fair???) with a Globe and the year 1955. If you look closely the piece is in the form of a letter "C" and is holding the globe. The back is marked as shown in the 2nd photo. Assuming the medallion is made of aluminum since Alcan was a major producer of it. Measures about 1 1/2" length and 1 1/8" wide. Attached to it is a ribbon that says Guest of Canada C.I.T.F. 1955. It is soiled some. About 3 7/8" length and 1 1/2" wide. If anyone happens to know what these initials stand for please let me know.
