Click for more detail...
2233

1960 United Large Gold Pocket Watch Wall Clock This is indeed the original model of the famous pocket watch wall clock. There were lots of companies duplicating the effort with cheap and plastic substitutions, but this beautiful piece done by the United Clock Company of Brooklyn, New York is the original classic.

It is made of solid brass plated metal and the large front crystal is heavy GLASS. The roman numeral dial is painted metal, not a paper dial like the reproductions are. The back of this clock is brass. The chain is also brass plated. The watch crown where the chain comes out of is also metal, not plastic. This #40 model clock made by United is the only original all metal pocket watch wall clock model I have ever seen.

This clock has been converted to battery as the old electric motor gave up and it was also nice to get rid of the electrical cord running down the wall. The battery will operate the clock reliably without any intervention from you except to change the battery one per year. There is an opening in the back of the clock to accommodate battery replacement.

The surface condition is good with some wear spots and tarnish marks but still in exceptional condition for a clock over 49 years old. There is a date signature stamped in ink on the inside of the clock dating it to July, 1960.

Everything is working properly on this clock as described and it is keeping accurate time. It is quite impressive to hang on a rec room wall as you can read the time from a good distance away. It would also be good for a business store. A real piece of nostalgia for sure.

This clock measures about 17 inches tall by 13.5 inches wide (across) and 2 inches deep.

7453

Vintage Bell & Howell Model 253 A 8mm Movie Projector This great machine has a metal plate that says: 115 V. AC 60 Cycle Only 500 W Max - Serial NO. P-70608, 5 amps, Chicago 45, ILL, U.S.A. Projector Model 253A Bell & Howell. It has the Framer lever and a switch that has Lamp, Motor and Off. It works great. A metal take up movie reel comes with the projector.

The unit is compact and has the metal lid with a push-button that opens the projector when depressed. The forward and rewind functions are very manual and accomplished by hooking up or unhooking the spring drive belts from the front or rear pulleys as shown in the photos. This reduces the number of moving parts inside the machine and lowered the cost. The cord is in good condition and the machine has the brown bake-lite handle.

It measures approximately 12 inches tall by 8.5 inches wide and 8.5 inches deep. It is a heavy, well built projector and is another of the Iron Horses of the 8mm movie projectors of the 1950's. This projector works great and it has been serviced and ready for you to watch your old home movies.

Take a close look at the photos and I think you will agree this is a clean unit for its age. The bulb is good and everything works as it should. Should you need a new bulb, contact me and I can find one for you if I don't already have the proper one listed in my store under the projector light bulb category.

7452

Bell & Howell Mod 10MS Dual 8 Movie Projector What a great and compact Dual 8mm projector this item is. It will show either the Super 8mm movies or the older Regular 8mm movie films. It is easy to use, totally self threading and even has a variable speed control switch which makes it great as a projector you can use while converting your old movies to DVD Videos.

It has the feature of reversing the film if you want to back up and review. This is a top of the line projector in its day that is very quiet and smooth operating. If you are looking for a quality machine, this is the one.

The spindle shaft (reel shaft) size requirements are different between Super 8mm and Regular 8mm so there is a unique removable adapter on the feed reel spindle that will allow the projector to accept either size of reel. In addition, to change from one size film to the other, just flip the switch on the control panel to Standard 8 or Super 8, as shown in the photos, and all is ready to go.

This particular projector is compact and won't take much storage room. It will also take the 7 inch large reels (400 ft) in addition to the 5 inch and 3 inch reels. The light is very bright.

Here is a machine that does it all and produces a bright and colorful image of the precious family films. It comes complete with a 7 inch empty take-up reel.

Vintage 1960's Swiss Hermes 3000 Typewriter Here is a most unusual portable manual HERMES typewriter made in Switzerland by the Paillard s. a. Yverdon and distributed in the USA by Paillard Products, Inc of 100 Sixth Ave, New York 13, NY. That is all written on the back of the typewriter and dates it for sure.

The typewriter is known as the workhorse machine for that era. It still is considered one of the finest portable typewriters and is preferred by many authors and script writers.

This typewriter is really well-built and has a solid typing touch to it. It is very easy to type and the machine is very well designed. The typestyle is crisp and black and the ribbon is good.

The top of the case comes off and the typewriter is ready for action.

Here is what one typewriter history web site says of this machine:

Quote: Hermes typewriters were designed in Switzerland - home of precision engineering. And they were built with all the Swiss passion for moving mechanisms and solid craftsmanship. The Hermes compact portables were no exception. Compactly designed with all-important features, the Hermes compact portable is an ideal typewriter for students, occasional typists and people on the road.

Clean and sporty, manufactured with the highest degree of quality, including the precision Swiss engineering that one would expect from a Swiss watch. End Quote

This machine has been serviced and is ready for use, or it would make a great item for a collector display. It would also work great for a movie prop. It is still in great condition as you will see in the photos.

This is a highly-sought-after typewriter still in demand today for its dependability and ease of use. The script writer of LONESOME DOVE used this model of machine and also several other movie scripts were created on this model of Hermes.

This particular machine includes the original owners manual plus a couple type clean brushes that are original to the typewriter. The carrying case also is monogrammed with the initials K.L.W. and your guess on who that might be is as good as mine. The key is included with the locking carrying case. Everything is working on this machine. It has been serviced and ready for duty if you're up to typing on a manual typewriter, or it would also make a very good yesteryear display.

This unit comes complete with its own carrying case. This typewriter has a new ribbon installed. Ribbons for any of these old manual typewriters can be found in this store under the typewriter supplies category.

This typewriter has the 42 character keyboard which means it does not have the #1 key. You use the lower case L key instead.

This typewriter has some surface scuffs and discolorations but it operates very well. Help yourself to this piece of yesteryear.

Large Oak Framed Talking Bird Clock This beautiful clock sounds the call of all the birds listed on the dial at the top of the hour--one bird each hour. Each hour is different according to the bird shown. The calls last about 15 seconds and the sound is very realistic.

This particular clock has very clear bird sounds--not garbled at all. It is also unusual with the Oak circular frame around the clock dial. It is real finished Oak wood and beautifully done.

The sounds are turned off at night via an electronic sensor eye built into the face of the clock. The bird call electronics require 2 AA batteries and the clock requires one AA battery. The sounds can be stopped by removing the 2 batteries if desired.

7447

Vintage GAF Dual 8 Autoload Movie Projector Model 438 This is economy model movie projector from GAF that will run the Regular 8mm film of the 50's and the Super 8 films of the 60's/70's. Everything on the projector is in good operating order. I have tried it on both 8mm and Super 8 film and all is operating as it should. This projector is in pristine condition and would suspect it has not had much use.

The larger Super 8 supply reel spindle pulls off which reveals the smaller Regular 8mm spindle that is needed to mount those 8mm film reels so the feeding reel spindle will fit either type reel center. Great system. This is a good opportunity to get a nice projector that serves two functions. There is nothing fancy about this basic projector, but it will get the job done.

The machine has AUTOLOAD of FILM, QUARTZ LAMP, PROJECT and REWIND features. Lots of features for a lower cost machine.

The projector measures 11.5 inches tall by 12 inches side and 7 inches deep (the case).

1960's GE Havest Gold Daisy Electric Kitchen Clock This 60's style clock is not a reproduction. It is the real thing, in great condition and I found it in its original packaging box unopened. I opened a small hole in the cellophane wrapper in the back so I could plug in the clock to make sure it is still operational.....and it works GREAT!

GE made several colors in this DAISY style clock, but this one is my favorite and it fits the era without a doubt.

It measures at total of 7 inches across the clock and it is 2.5 inches deep. the face of the clock sets off the wall approximately 2 inches to give it that 3-D effect.

Vintage 1954 Swiss Hermes 2000 Typewriter Here is a most unusual portable manual HERMES typewriter made in Switzerland by the Paillard s. a. Yverdon and distributed in the USA by Paillard Products, Inc of 100 Sixth Ave, New York 13, NY. That is all written on the back of the typewriter and dates it for sure.

The typewriter is known as the workhorse machine for that era. It still is considered one of the finest portable typewriters and it preferred by many authors and script writers.

This typewriter is really well-built and has a solid typing touch to it. It is very easy to type and the machine is very well designed. The typestyle is crisp and black and the ribbon is good.

It measures 11 inches wide by 11 inches deep and 2.75 inches tall. The bottom of the included carrying case can be used as a typewriter pad or can be removed from the typewriter by unfastening the quick latches.

The spacebar even has some fingernail wear marks towards its center so it could be speculated that a lady with long fingernails used this machine. It still is in great condition as you will see in the photos.

This timer movement has been cleaned and serviced inside and is ready for some dependable duty. It has a loud bell that DINGS when the countdown timer reaches zero. To use the unit, you must turn the dial past the 15 minute mark and then come back to a lower number if the number you want is below 15 minutes. However, you can set the timer for any amount up to 60 minutes. These good ol' timers are hard to come by in good condition but they have been proven to be the preferred stove timer compared to the imported quality timers made today.

This particular stove timer shows a very slight heat indentation on the left-lower side of the clock, but is hardly noticeable.

Vintage Herschede Pulsating Bell Alarm Clock Here is a very rare Herschede clock with a most unusual alarm bell ringing feature. When the alarm activates, a striker rings the bell one DING at a time for approximately 20 times, then it goes into a solid bell ringing mode until the top brass button is depressed.

The clock itself is signed inside from the mfr with a date of April, 1953. The clock movement has been serviced and it keeps very accurate time and all functions work as they should.

The dial is wonderful as shown in the photos. There is a separate dial for the second hand and a dial for the alarm setting function. Herschede called this clock the SILENT-TIC as it contains a special design in the clock movement to silence the tic-toc sound and it is barely audible.

It is not often I get to see this Silent-Tic alarm clock from Herschede (a German clock manufacturer who is long out of business back in the 50's). So help yourself to this beauty and enjoy.

There are a few paint chips and brass discolorations here and there on the clock but it is most acceptable when considering its age. What a great collector clock this is with all its uniqueness of operation and style. The clock is signed on the rear cover and front dial with MADE IN GERMANY.

This small clock measures 4.25inches tall by 4 inches wide and 2.25 inches deep.

Vintage Classic Revere Model 40 8mm Movie Camera Here is a wonderful reminder of yesteryear. The Revere movie camera was 'state of the art' in its day (late '50's, early 1960's). It is labeled as the Revere Eight, Model 40, Magazine Cine. This is a mainspring windup camera with NO BATTERIES REQUIRED and it is still in perfect working order. Wind up the mainspring and flip the trigger on the right side of the unit and the camera operates with that wonderful old sound.

The motor trigger also has a frame-by-frame mode which is unusual and only seen on cameras of quality. It uses a film magazine that slips into the film compartment of the camera. There is also a speed adjustment dial near the trigger and a footage adjustment dial over the trigger. The camera is all metal and very heavy and well-built.

There is an amber colored filter install over the lens. What a great nostalgic treat this camera is.
