Click for more detail...
7467

Copper Cookware Set 4 Pieces Plus Lids This 7-piece set of stainless steel lined copper cookware was made in the early to mid 1980s in Korea. It includes an 8-3/4" diameter by 4" deep Dutch oven style cooking pot, an 8-3/4" diameter skillet, a 7-3/8" by 3" deep saucepan, a 6" diameter by 2-1/4" deep saucepan, and three lids. The saucepans each have their own lid, the skillet and large pot share a lid. It was a moderately priced set when new, not professional quality but not the cheapest copper cookware you could buy either.

All of the pieces are in excellent condition and spotlessly clean. It looks like they were used very little if at all - there are some minor marks from storage but not the kind of normal scuffs, scratches, or utensil marks you might expect to see on cookware that received regular or even occasional use. Please note the sizes listed above, as this type of cookware may be somewhat smaller than what you're used to using.

Click for more detail...
7466

Set 3 Solid Copper Mixing Beating Bowls These three solid copper mixing bowls were used for beating egg whites - the copper and egg white create a chemical reaction that helps stiffen the mixture quickly. They're fine for dry mixing too. The sizes are 8-1/4" diameter by 4-1/2" deep, 7-1/4" by 3-3/4", and 5-3/4" by 3". They date to the 1980s, are medium weight and have brass hanging rings - not the highest quality you could buy then, but certainly not the lowest.

The bowls were used and all have some minor surface scratches or light scuffs on the bottoms where the bowls rest when in use. The two largest bowls have a couple of shallow little dings in the bottoms - you should be able to see them in the 3rd picture. There are expected light stir marks on the insides, nothing large or deep. Price is for the set.

Hammered Copper Large Roasting Pan This large copper roasting pan has a hammered texture on the sides, heavy solid brass handles and a super shiny stainless steel lining. It is marked Made In Korea on the handles and dates to the late 1970s - mid 1980s. The interior dimensions are a roomy 15 by 11 by 2-1/2 inches. There are some light scuffs and scratches on the bottom from storage or shelf wear but I really don't think the roaster was ever used for baking or cooking - it's spotlessly clean and in excellent, near-new condition.

Saltillo Mexico Hand Wrought Copper Creamer and Sugar Set This heavy Mexican hand wrought copper creamer and sugar set looks very Arts and Crafts style with its riveted brass band decoration, but it probably dates to the 1950s or a bit later. The wide mouth cream pitcher is 4-1/4" high, the elephant ears double handled open sugar is just under 3-1/2" tall. Both pieces are marked on the bottoms: Plateria Saltillo, Saltillo Com., Hecho en Mexico. They have some light marks from use and storage and the sugar rim has a little bump as shown in the second photo.

7461

General Foods Kitchens Cookbook 1959 My mother had a copy of this General Foods Kitchens cook book when I was growing up and she used it as much if not more than any other she had. The original owner of this copy obviously used and loved it too, it has some wear but there are no serious problems or issues.

The hardcover, indexed book has 436 pages of recipes. There are lots of illustrations and full color photographs. Published by Random House in 1959, this is a first edition, first printing without dust jacket.

I found no writing, tears, or stains to the pages of the book. The end papers are cracked at the center spine seam which is starting to separate a bit from the binding but is still intact (see second photo). The first page has the original owner's name written in ink plus a penciled price in the upper page corner. There are slight corner bumps and mild cover wear as shown. The pages are bound tightly with nothing loose. Will ship media mail for $5.75 insured upon request. If paid by Paypal and media mail is specified, I will refund shipping overpayment.

At the back of the book are sections on menus, cooking terms, a guide to herbs and spices, reference tables, and a complete index. The hardbound book has 811 pages and is in good vintage condition with no tears and no written-on or stained pages. There's some minor shelf wear to the cover as shown, binding is good. 7458

Twin Winton Pot O Cookies Cooky Jar This neat vintage cookie jar by Twin Winton of California is the Pot O' Cookies, and says so in raised letters across the front of its round kettle shape body. The purposely mottled matte glaze is light tan-brown, not the darker woodtone that is more common. Three of the raised flowers at the front and the four on the lid are painted in glossy pastel colors. The underside is stamped Twin Winton. The cookie jar is in terrific condition with no chips, flakes, hairlines, or interior crazing. Of course it does have the usual minor glaze and pottery imperfections that give Twin Winton pieces their character and charm. About 7 inches high to the top of the lid knob, 5-1/2" diameter at the rim, just over 8-1/2" at the widest point.

It has a heart shape center handle and measures 11-3/4 inches diameter. There are no nicks, flakes, or chips and the glass is crystal clear. The excellent condition with no chips, flakes, scratches scorch marks or stains. Other than some gray marks on the underside from contact with the metal stand, it would be in mint condition. Set of Four Black Amethyst Glass Water Goblets I'm afraid I haven't been able to identify the maker of these striking black glass water goblets. They are very nice quality with a reddish amethyst color when held up to the light, and they ring nicely when tapped. They are 7 inches tall by 3-1/2" diameter at the rims and hold 12 ounces. All in excellent condition, no chips, cloudiness, or noticeable scratches. Price is for the set of four. There's a fifth goblet I can include at no extra charge if the buyer wants it but it does have a fleabite nick on the rim.

Purple Luster and Gold Porcelain Table Lighter and Cigarette Holder Set This vintage ceramic smoking set consists of a table lighter and slant-rim cigarette holder in a puffy ribbed shape with painted gold and purple luster vertical stripes on white. The set has somewhat of an Art Deco appearance but it was probably made in the late 1940s to early 1950s. The lighter is 4-1/4" high, the cigarette holder is 3" tall at the back.

There are no chips, flakes, cracks or other damage to the porcelain and the lighter will work fine once fluid is added. There is little if any wear to the purple luster paint or gold trim. The brass lighter insert isn't marked anywhere, nor are the ceramic pieces.
