EARLY GUSTAV KAITZ DECO ISLAND COUPLE 20.5 x 16.6" Overall, 17.5 x 13.5" Visible painting. Rare to find this lovely, young and sexy couple together. An early hand painted, and signed original Gustave Kaitz. Who was the last living of the great Decoists. His stuff is becoming more valuable by the day, get it while you can still afford it.
 

BARBETTA LITHOGRAPH OF LOVER'S CROSS 19x30" Barbetta signed lithograph of Lover's Cross. A beautifully rendered lithograph that even features hand-detailing on the hands, this is a striking image of a man and woman resting on each others shoulders. Look closely, and you will notice they have nails drivin through their extremities. Excellent condition. Signed "Barbetta" and "AP" as well as the name.
 

THORMER APACHE DANCERS IN ACRYLIC 20x24" Don Thormer "Apache Dancers" in acrylic. A stylish pair caught in pose, he in green and black beret, faces aways, as she grasps his hand, her face partially obscured by his shoulder. Her lovely pink outfit is a bit racy, as her skirt is slit higher than the top of her stocking, and her garter belt is exposed. Signed and dated, 6.7.74.
 

LARGE HAHN EUROPEAN LANSCAPE 55x31" Immense K. Hahn European landscape. The sheer size of this painting allows the full depiction of a river and its paralleling village. Lovely dark earthy tones contrast to the brightening sky. Smei-ornate frame matches well. Signed K. Hahn. Excellent condition.
 

JAPANESE OTSUKA DECO LITHOGRAPH LIKE ERTE 32x27.5" ,inner 19.5 x 25". Beautiful Hisashi Otsuka Japanese lithograph on silk. Titled the Royal Kiss. A delicate moment with a woman feeding a humming bird with her lips. Feathers of the bird tail swoop upward and blend into the hair of the woman. I've seen these as high as $3000. 1883/3000 edition.

Bohemian East Side Beat Ladies Card Game Oil 36x30" frame, 29.5x23.5" painting. Recently discovered painting at a North Carolina Flea market. Very 60's looking NY ladies at their bridge game. A little beat, a little bohemian, a little hippie. Each lady with what looks like proto doe eyes. Purchased from an eldery couple who told me they were selling it for their widow neighbor whom bought from the artist in East Village, NY in the 60's. Unsigned.

HATIAN TROPICAL OIL PAINTING ADAM LEONTUS 29.5x25.5" One of the more well known Hatian artists.
Adam Leontus was born in 1928 in Anse-a-Galets on the island of Gonave in the Bay of Port-au-Prince. He died in 1986.
Leontus worked in many professions before he was able to make a living with his art, though he joined the Centre d'Art in 1944. His early works were as a painter of voodoo temples - Hounfors - and designer of Voodoo Flags. He was one of the select group of masters to decorate the Holy Trinity Cathedral in Port-au-Prince. (The others were Prefete Duffaut, Wilson Bigaud, Philome Obin, Castera Bazile, and Rigaud Benoit).
Leontus was not open about his relationship with Voodoo, and except for his very early work, avoided such themes in his art. He is famous for his still lives and bird scenes. Distinctive for their elegance, they include waterbirds of all types, swimming or standing in their natural element, surrounded by lush, imaginary vegetation. The fluency of line and rich, quiet palette of the artist, along with his subject matter, create a unique statement of his feelings for the Paradise Lost of Haiti's ecological past. From what I can tell, this is one of his finest works. Signed , Adam Leontus, Lexington Art gallery tag on the back, probably late 50's, to mid 60's painting.
 

Picasso The Cavalier, artist proof 12" x 18" image, 20" x 25.5" paper, 23" x 29" frame. Lucky find. Bought by a friend for the frame, only to find this signed Picasso lithograph under the mat. All the right stuff. Arches watermarked paper, H. Deshamp lithographer, stamped bottom, left corner, "Empriente Originale de Picasso", right corner pencil written, "E.A." (Artist proof) plate signed at the top, pencil signed at the bottom.
