I call her "Oh my aching back" but this country maiden is clearly content with her lot in life. Picking up the morning rolls I would imagine, from the size of the basket. Stress crack in base, but otherswise amazingly intact. Stamped 2666/532/3, initalled Hig.

This is an important piece, as it expresses the infancy of a movement in design that ultimately became modernism. Beautiful and in pristine condition.

ROYAL VIENNA GREEK ARTIST 15.5x6.5x5" Classically poised, Rosenthal quality, Greek styled female artist. A finely detailed, creamy white, high glaze piece, trimmed in a mint green. She ponders casually, pallette in hand, her next artistic move. A fascinating piece in that she has two brushes in hand, appearing like chopsticks. Numbered 6988, the mark is obscured & undecipherable. Mint condition. Qualitatively in the league of Dresden, Sitzendorf, Volkstedt, ect. Probably pre war. If you recognize it, please advise. Priced right. Did the ancient Greeks eat Chinese food?

 

DANISH 30s ANDERSON WOMAN PLAYING LUTE 10x4" 1930s Danish piece by Michael Anderson. This ususual piece portrays a woman strumming a lute and emotionally singing along. Her face is gentle, filled with concentration, her eyes closed. A very simple and humble piece, but its clarity only adds to the beauty of the piece. Beautiful condition. The number '3985' is stamped underneath, along with a carved triangle.
 

BAUHAUS WERKSTATTE STYLE DECO NUDE W/ DOE 16x4.5x16" Hand sculpted ceramic deco nude with doe. Done in earthy glazes, with features typical in color & style as the pre war Austian/German ceramics. Purchased in France, it still has the paper tag from the original store on the "Avenue Del Opera". Classy piece. Signed with a creative unusual signature P. Schenck, it is in pristine condition.

SCUPLTED ZACCAGNINI BLACKAMOOR CANDLESTIX 14x4.5x3.5" Very rare, hand sculpted ceramic blackamoor candlestix. 50's vintage & in amazing original condition. One small glaze chip on her rear cape. Dual signed, both by what looks like S.H. Bandini, & the Zaccagnini cipher. Zaccagnini's work was noticed by Walt Disney & he was contracted under license to manufacturer Disney characters, perhaps as early as the 40's. Some reaching thousands of dollars today. These are pure sculpted art.
 

ITALIAN MADE RISQUE MARDI GRAS SCENE 20x12x8.54" This Italian-made early Art Nouveau risqué Mardi Gras scene features a Harlequin man kissing the neck (and a whole lot more) of a shy masked maiden. This is a private label piece, with the words "Made in Italy" clearly stamped on the back. Cascading flora on the bud vase match the lovely pattern ont he woman's gown. This work is in exquisite condition, though there is a possible repair on the mid-section of the column. With an enchanting motif of flowers, spring and love, this piece is not to be lost out on or forgotten.
