Click for more detail...
T26782

Armstrong Pipe Threading Set w/Box Threader Wrench This is a nice antique set of pipe thread cutting dies, including the threader in the rare smallest No. 1 size. It includes 4 sets of adjustable dies including 1/8", 1/4", 3/8", 1/2" dies, each has a threaded guide ring that keeps the pipe running true or square while threading, with the exception of the 1/2" size guide is missing. Also included is two pipe handles for the threader (each are 7.5" long), one wrench, and 3 different sized ring guides (sized to fit each die set except the 1/2" size). These die inserts are in good condition, but show wear, one of the 3/8" dies has small chip in a critical area, will be good for chasing threads, but most likely would not cut threads, the rest will cut new threads. Replacement dies for this size may be hard to find, as they are smaller in size than the much more common No. 2 size. The No. 1 dies in this set fit into a slot that is only 1" wide. The threader is marked "F. ARMSTRONG BRIDGEPORT CT. 1" MADE IN U.S.A." and is in very good condition with some oil residue, but generally very clean, nice quality casting, and a nice logo near the threaded area on the right side, and about 80% of the black paint intact. The dies have good thread leads and cutting areas, but they show there age and show signs of being a bit brital as there are small chips off most of them, still useable, the chips are mostly on the back end or on the opposite side of the lead threads. These are the adjustable size type dies, that will allow the user to vary the size by about 1/32" to fit pipe to close tolarances. The threader casting alone is 6.5" long overall without the handles, they are 7.5" long overall each, all in very good shape, good threads. The box is one of the nicest we have seen, lap jointed in the corner, made of oak, has a natural finish on it, good stong, well attached hinges, There is one stamped marking on the end of the outside of the bottom of the box that reads, "GENUINE ARMSTRONG NO. 1 1/8 to 1/2 BRIDGEPORT CONN MADE IN U.S.A.". The brass latch is in good shape. The top lid is oak, 3 piece to help keep it from warping. All appears original, some small dings, mostly minor considering the environment this tool was used in. The box is 3.25 x 6.3 x 10.5". A nice old, small set F. Armstrong Mfg. Co. was in business from 1875-1922 according to research. A rarely seen example of their quality small size pipe threading set!

We note it has the No. 750 type handle, but not sure if it was designated as a No. 750. The handle red lacquer is only about 20% intact, the handle is solid and has a good leather end wrap. Click for more detail...
T26720

Craftsman Yankee No. 9 4221 Push Drill w/ 8 Drill Bits This is a rarely seen push drill from the 1950's era! This was one of the first of the Yankee style push drills to have the plastic handle in it's design. In this case in the 1950's Stanley designed the plastic part to be cased in polished aluminum on either end, so the tips of the handle are metal including the thread that holds the cap in place. The only difference between this tool and the Stanley Yankee, is the hexagon shaped area on the tapered part near the handle, otherwise it is a Stanley No. 45 in size and shape, as well as features, including the drill points to fit in the chuck, also Yankee brand. This one is in fine condition overall with a very good spring chuck to hold the drill points in place. There is 8 drill bits or points included and stored in the handle in sectioned slots. They are all different in sizes, ranging from 1/16" to 11/64" diameter, each has a .168" diameter shank size (a full set) in very good used to new condition. The drill points shown in the picture are the actual points that come with this push drill. This push drill is in fine used condition with only very minor wear on the spiral shaft sleeve, and on the plastic handle area. It is marked "CRAFTSMAN U.S.A.", on the black plastic section, the white Craftsman label is a little worn off on this one, but this is the DD 9 4221 model, even though that part is worn off the label. Overall in Good++ condition with most of the nickel plating intact, some minor wear and scratches on the black plastic handle, otherwise in very good condition with very good sharp drill points as well! A very nice gift item!

Stanley Hand Drill Egg Beater Type H1220 HY-LO DRIVE This is a quality made single speed hand drill, and a set of drill points that store in the hollow of the handle. This hand drill is marked "STANLEY HY-LO DRIVE NO. H1220 MADE IN U.S.A." on the crank wheel and handle area. The H in the model number refers to the "HANDYMAN" trade mark name, and the "HY-LO" refers to the double drive gears at the high and low position of the crank wheel for stability. It has a 1/4" diameter capacity 3 jaw chuck in very good condition. It features nice solid hardwood handles red/blue painted color handles, and a blue crank wheel. The wood is solid, no cracks, end cap thread in good shape, some red paint worn off the end of the screw cap handle end, otherwise in very good condition, cranks and spins very smoothly. Rememeber to give this type of drill a drop of oil at each gear and crank bushing from time to time. Comes with a set of 7 fluted drill bits for wood drilling, all in good sharp condition, the 1/16" size is missing from the set, 11/64" is the biggest size. Click for more detail...
T26739

Stanley Handyman 233H Ratchet Screwdriver w/Drill Bits This is a nice, clean, used 1950's era ratchet spiral screwdriver / push drill! It is marked "STANLEY YANKEE NO. 233H MADE IN U.S.A.", on the main nickel plated shaft. This screwdriver is the small size that Stanley made in regards to tooling, or the tips that fit into the chuck, they are the 7/32" or .218" shank diameter size. Stanley bought out North Brothers in the late 1940's, and this tooling for these screwdrivers remained the same for Stanley production, as North Bros.. The chuck holds any of the 6 bits included (3) different slot bits, and (3) different size drill bits also. There is very little wear on the screwdriver, some minor scratches and white color stains on the inside of the clear plastic handle, about 90% like new, including the original "YANKEE HANDYMAN" logo on the handle cap. All the bits are in very good to new condition, and all fit into the handle storage area. In very good mechanical condition also, only some minor wear on the inside of the clear plastic handle to report, from the tools moving around in there is suppose, as there is little sign of use. This one has a rapid return spring, on the spiral system, so it springs back after you push it in to drive a screw or drill. Basically the same features of the older Stanley ratchet screwdrivers, except this model doesn't allow for the spiral system lock down, (with the whole spiral shaft inside) for using the ratchet system only, independent of the spiral system. This one works find this way, and the handle storage feature is nice too! Measures 8.4" long overall. Also included is the original blue colored box with the red and white label. Some of the top corners are taped, fairly solid, a rip noted on the top near the center also. A much favored tool by many homeowners over the years. Still a good, handy, useable tool!

T26724

Millers Falls No. 61A Spiral Ratchet Screwdriver This is a very rare, clean spiral ratchet screwdriver, it is marked "MILLERS FALLS GREENFIELD MASS. MADE IN U.S.A. NO. 61A PATENTED MARCH 30, 1926" on the nickel plated area between the hand and the selector switch. It measures 17" long overall fully extended without the bit, has a rosewood stained hardwood handle. The wood handle is solid with about 85% of it's original finish intact, we note a number of tiny to small dings and scratches, light bench wear, as shown in the pictures. The steel screwdriver head and shaft is in very good useable condition with very little wear. Nickel plating is 95% intact. The selector on this one moves smoothly and holds position very well, three position, left, right, lock. The spiral function is not spring loaded on this one, and can be locked in the compressed position. The bit is removeable, and has a 9/32" or .280" diameter shank, and will except that size Yankee Phillips adapter bits that we also offer for sale (under Yankee with the search feature ref. Number is T5630A). A very nice larger sized spiral ratcheting screwdriver! There is two slot bits include with this screwdriver, one 3/16" and one 1/4" wide bit at the tip, both in great shape. A very nice antique ratchet spiral screwdriver from the 1920's era!

Stanley Jointer Plane No. 7 Type 7 1893-99 This is a very good used jointer plane marked "STANLEY PAT. APL.19.92" on the cutter, and "STANLEY" on the lateral lever, has the "NO. 7" at the toe, no other markings except a "7" on the underside of the cap cover. So, everything is as original for a Stanley plane made in 1893. Overall the plane is in very good working condition with about 85% of it's original black Japanning intact. The front knob and rear tote are both rosewood, both solid in good shape, no cracks, the tote has a small ding from the lateral lever being bumped against it, otherwise minimal wear on either knob or tote handle, very nice looking. The cutter is sharp and about 90% intact. The cap cover is very nice, clear, one small edge ding that is hidden under the screw when in place on the plane. The bare metal has a slightly darkened patina, less than 5% of the total surface area has minor pitting, smooth and nice with very little wear or scratches. We note a small hang hole drilled in the heel area, otherwise in very good condition. Overall a very nice, clean jointer plane from the late 1890's era!

Click for more detail...
T26728

Greenlee Spiral Ratchet Screwdriver No. 459 + Box Rare! This is a clean, very rare, spiral ratchet screwdriver, it is marked "GREENLEE ROCKFORD ILLINOIS MADE IN U.S.A. NO. 459" on the nickel plated area near the selector switch. It measures 24" long overall without the screwdriver tip, (the longest they ever made), has a very nice rosewood handle that has a clear lacquer finish over it. The handle is solid with very little very minor wear, very nice with just a few tiny specks of the finish, as seen in the pictures. The steel screwdriver chuck and shaft is in very good useable condition with very minor wear, looks great! Nickel plating is over 98% intact. The selector on this one moves smoothly and holds position very well, three position, left, right, lock. This is the spring loaded, rapid return type screwdriver, and it has a very strong spring. Much like the Stanley or North Brothers Yankee screwdrivers, this one offers the same features as their largest models, as the spiral section can be locked in the closed position, and used as a ratchet screwdriver only if you wish. The bits are removable, and has a 5/16 " or .31" diameter shank, and will except that size Yankee Phillips adapter bits that we also offer for sale (under Yankee with the search feature). It will also accept other Stanley or North Brothers, "Yankee" bits with the 5/16" diameter shank, in fact a few Yankee brand bits are included. This is only the 2nd one of these I've seen to date with the rosewood handle, considered rare! A good clean, ready to use screwdriver! Basically it's a Yankee screwdriver with some minor changes to the handle design, but will lock with the spiral shaft fully inside, (like the 31A Yankee for example) shortening the screwdriver to 16" long for ratchet or normal use. Also included is three interchangeable screwdriver slot tips, and two Phillips bit in two sizes, all in good+ to new condition. A very rare tool! This is the first of these we have ever offered for sale with the original green/yellow cardboard box! The box has the matching label at the end in very good condition, it reads "ONE NO. 459 GREENLEE SPIRAL SCREW DRIVER LARGE SPRING RETURN GREENLEE" the label is on both ends of the box. There is very little edge and corner wear on the top of the box, otherwise it is in very good condition overall, not ripped, the bottom is very solid and clean. We note some minor stains on the top, but overall very good shape.
I can't say enough about the quality and appearence of this tool! Super nice, you will not be disappointed! A very nice gift item!
