in 1948 in Leece in II Barbirere di Siviglia. He sang baritone roles for three years. He made his stage debut as a tenor in 1951 in Bari in the Title role of ANDREA CHENIER.He came to chicago in 1955 and to the Metropolitan Opera in 1956.
