Kromex Aluminum Grease Can with Strainer This is a grease can that was made by Kromex. It has no metal strainer. There are some minor scratches, but overall this is in good condition. Paint on the lettering is good though it may have been touched up at some point. the top looks to have a flaw in it. The black part looks like it wasn't applied evenly. This originally went with a set of salt and pepper shakers. This Kromex grease can could still be a handy addition to your kitchen.

Vintage Kromex Aluminum Spice Set with Rack This is a set of eight spice containers and rack that was made by Kromex. The shakers are named on the lids. They read Cinnamon, Cayenne, Mustard, Allspice, Paprika, Ginger, Cloves, and Nutmeg. Each shaker measures 4.25 inches tall. They all have metal inserts with holes. The rack measures 10 inches wide, 3 inches deep, and about 5.25 inches tall. There is some very minor surface wear as seen in the pictures. The lettering may have been touched up with white paint somewhere along the way. There may be a tiny ding or two but nothing very noticeable. There is some wear to the rack from the spice tins sitting there for many years. It can sit on a counter or be mounted on the wall. It is marked Kromex. The Summer Cookbook This is a hardcover cookbook called the Summer Cookbook. It was written by Lousine Rousseau Brunner. It has 200 pages including the index. this cookbook was written for anyone whose appetite flags as the temperature soars. Many recipes require a minimum of preparation time, can be put together in advance, and refrigerated until time for the oven. Directions are clear and precise enough to be followed easily by even inexperienced cooks. Examples of some of the recipes are Brandied Ham Slices, Eggs Orientale, Swedish Bean Salad, Corned Beef Salad, Deviled Halibut, Cold Chicken Pie, Farmer's Salad, Oriental Oranges, and Pineapple Coconut Delight. It's in good condition considering its age. I've thumbed through it and don't see any major flaws such as torn pages, serious stains or scribbles. You might find a spot or two or a note in the margin. The dust jacket has wear as seen in the pictures. This Summer Cookbook will provide great family meals for years to come. Mother Anderson's Favorite Recipes This is a hardcover cookbook called Mother Anderson's Favorite Recipes by Jeanne Hall and Belle Anderson Ebner. It was first published in 1948 and has 318 pages including the index. This book is a reprint of the original done by the Coobook Collector's Library. They do not give a date but there is an address with a zip code. This cookbook has recipes from the original owner of the Anderson House in Winona, Minnesota. The hotel is the oldest railroad hotel in Minnesota and still operates today. It's a favorite weekend getaway. The Anderson family still operate it and having been there I can tell you that the food served is fantastic. You can rent a room and a cat (yes, they will rent you a cat for the night), and have a delicious meal. Some sample recipes are Cream of Almond Soup, Liver Soup, Ham and Chicken Shortcake, Peanut Butter Pie, Cream Cheese Gingerbread, White Fruitcake, Sour Cream Cabbage, and Festive Holland Chicken. There is wear to the cover as seen in the pictures. I've thumbed through it and see no major flaws except for the following ones. It is still usable. It is in good condition for it's age. This Mother Anderson's Favorite Recipes cookbook is a perfect gift for yourself or your favorite chef. C6142

June Platt Cookbook This is a hardcover cookbook called the June Platt Cookbook. It was written by June Platt, who was a featured writer for House & Garden Magazine, in 1958 and has 458 pages including the index. This cookbook is based on a philosophy that party food does not mean a long drawn out menu. The element of surprise is more important. The author believes that it is better to bewilder guests by serving an upside down cake right side up than to give them the same dishes they might find in a restaurant. Examples of some of the recipes are Braised Leg of Lamb with Olives, Yams & Oranges, Colache, Cranberry Pie, Susie's Potato Pudding, Shad Roe Mousse, Paul's Beef Stew, Thin Corn Bread, and Persian Chicken. It's in good condition considering it's age. I've thumbed through it and don't see any major flaws such as torn pages, serious stains or scribbles. You might find a spot or two or a note in the margin. The dust jacket has wear as seen in the pictures. This June Platt cookbook will provide great family meals for years to come.
