RR29x10cst

Rare Old 2 pc. Red Rooster Weathervane + Stand & More This is the first time in at least the last ten years that I have seen this particular style of Rooster Weathervane.
This Bright Red Rooster seems to be sporting several coats of the same color red paint, so I would think he spent his last half century of so at the same place , under the care of the same people. Not a small or light weigght bird by any means, this Red Rooster stands over ten inches tall and 13 wide and is striding across an arrow that is 30 inches long. The arrow, Rooster, directionals and stand are all made of some type od cast metal. Not aluminum, because the piece is too heavy and not iron, because the piece is too light for that. Spelter or pot metal I imagine. very sturdy and easy to care for.
The weathervane also has a white milk glass 4 inch lightning ball and a set of compass directionals. Rather than lean such a good looking bird against a wall to take his picture, we used a 150 year old piece of barn lumber to fasten his stand onto. The total height is just under 4 feet. I still am not sure how the rooster is held together. He was obviously made in two half then joined and there is a gap of about 1/2 to 3/4 inches at his tail, but he is solidly attached to his roost, so i will just leave him alone.
A great looking Red Rooster weathervane in a rare style and size with all sorts of class and character.

Gorgeous Hand Painted Victorian GWTW Oil Lamp Picker's Treasures is pleased to offer this breathtaking hand painted oil lamp for your consideration. This vintage lamp has both it's original glass globes and each one is in very good condition. Hand painted with subtle shades and colors, it is a tribute to the artist that even after all these years, the original artwork is just as soft and inviting today as when it was first applied. Someone clearly took very good care of this Gone with the Wind, style lamp. The colors used by the artist are delicate, not at all over-stated as is so often the case with many old Victorian oil lamps of this style. The heavy glass globes are lightly frosted on the inside, an appealing complement to the subtle shades that accent the hand painted flowers. All of these wonderful details blend together perfectly, creating a sense of warmth and a feeling of welcome that is further enhanced as you will see the moment you light the fully restored oil burner. I can assure you that when lit, the flowers that grace this 10 inch diameter shade will almost seem to come alive. Imagine yourself relaxing as soft music plays and the soft glow of this lovely old lamp gently eases your mind, and coaxes your thoughts to follow it back to those peaceful, Victorian times from whence it came.
Standing a full 24 inches to the top of its chimney, this Gone with the Wind, type oil lamp is ready to cast its soft light around you for years to come. Just imagine.

Antique Victorian Cranberry Red Swirl GWTW Oil Lamp What a beautiful antique Ruby Red Cranberry glass oil lamp. The 8 inch ball shade and matching font likely dates back to the late 1800's. Both pieces have the same deep cranberry or ruby red color and both feature the distinctive swirl effect that was incorporated into the glass itself. It is the quality of the lamp parts and that wonderful swirl pattern within the glass that makes me certain this lamp is built around an early Fenton globe and font . There are no chips or cracks in this beauty either.
Measuring 22 inches to the top of the ball shade and then another 2 inches to the top of the old glass chimney, this is an eye popping, attention grabbing beauty that will be the perfect accent to someone's decor. The burner is a vintage P&A Oxford and the entire lamp has been checked out and is ready to be filled and used.
Please look over the photos and don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions.

Antique Amithyst Clear Lightning Rod Ball. 4 inch dia. Vintage Amithyst - sun colored, clear glass LIGHTNING ROD BALL
This auction is for another vintage lightning rod ball as shown in the pictures. This lovely amithyst colored ball has a 4 inch round body in excellent, with no visible damage. As is common on this old lightning balls, both ends have some small chips in the glass but the copper end caps cover this damage completely. A nice vintage ball, ready to be used again as intended, or shown off in your collection!!
PS. I like to add a small light bulb inside these glass balls. They give off a lovely glow.

Sun colored Amethyst Milk Glass Lightning Ball - lovely This gorgeous old lightning ball began its life as just another white round milk glass lightning ball, but through the years the sun changed the color to this wonderful swirled amethyst. If you look closely, you can see the different shades from top to bottom and especially the swirl on the ball at the lighter end. The glass is thick and heavy and the copper end caps cover the roughness at the ends. I like to use these with a small bulb as nightlights, but however you use this antique lightning ball it will not go unnoticed.

Fine Liege Civil War Boot Gun 50 cal drop trigger Now here is a gorgeous little gun. This fancy engraved little boot pistol bears the ELG markings of the famed Liege of Belgium. Liege produced more guns in the early to mid 1800's than everyone else combined, but not all for themselves. Liege made guns or gun parts for just about every gun maker in existence prior to the Civil War. The Lefaucheux French pinfire pistols are a prime example. Many you may see will have both the Lefaucheux markings and the ELG stamp from Liege.
During the Civil War Liege supplied the Confederate Army with thousands of firearms and this beautiful little boot gun was likely one of them. The gun is about 50 caliber and is nicely engraved, but most striking are the tiger maple grips. Their is also a silver oval plate set into the grips for the owner's initials, but whatever might have been there has been worn away by time. The grips have a few rough spots, but they are still impressive. The gun funstions well and the trigger drops down to fire when you cock the hammer. If it is also to retract on its own, it may need some oil and patience, but I am not so sure it wasn't made as it is now.
What a gorgeous little boot gun.

Rare Sprague & Marston 36 cal Civil War Boot Pistol This rare and very nice old civil war boot gun was made in the 1860's by W.W. Marston for Sprague and Marston. The gun is quite large, considering it is a 36 caliber. Especially when most bootguns were half its size and fired lead balls twice as large, but then you realize how much better this old boot gun is made. The thick, heavy and very fancy barrel. The smooth trigger guard and bag style grips. This gun was not just extremely accurate, it was extremely powerful and very very deadly.
All the mechanisms are working nicely and other than someone working at altering the word Norwich on the top strap, this is a fine example of a Civil War soldier's boot pistol and will make a wonderful addition to someone's collection.

Old West Pocket Pistol. Iver Johnson 32 DA . 5 shot Looking at the finish and condition of this little 5 shot 32 revolver, you might not think it this little double action could be over 100 years old, but it is.
Bearing its maker's name and a string of patent dates from 1886 through 1888, this little but powerful pocket pistol is a perfect example of the old west Saturday Night Specials. Carried in waistbands, garters, vest pockets and just about place else you can think of, men and women alike used these small revolvers to protect themselves from harm or to add a bit more firepower to what they carried in their holster or saddlebags. The nickle silver is at least 90% on this one and the markings are excellent. The action is right on and everything works great except for one missing spring which would keep the locking latch lever in place rather than loose as it is now.
Not for shooting. This is sold as a display or collector's pistol only.

1870's 22 Czar 7 shot Single Action Engraved Pistol Marked T&R on the gutta percha grips as well as CZAR stamped on the top strap, this is a good looking example of an old west 22 single action pocket pistol. Some folks include these small 7 shot 22 revolvers in the same group as the Saturday Night Specials. This old revolver has about 80% silver nickle remaining on the frame and barrel, but the cylinder is all gun metal brown patina. The mechanisms are not working correctly, likely because the gun has some broken springs inside. Not to be fired, this is for collecting and display of Old West firearms only.

SW32SA7892

Antique Old West Pocket Pistol. S&W 32 Single Action Here is a very nice Smith & Wesson spur trigger, single action 32 model 1 1/2 a.k.a. 32 Single action. These small but deadly 5 shot revolvers were extremely popular as a backup gun. The design and smaller size made it easy for a gambler, outlaw or saloon girl to hide this model on their person where it would be hard to detect. Many a drunken cowboy met his maker after deciding he would beat the crap out of a working girl.
This little beauty is in very good condition when you consider it dates all the way back to the 1880's. All the mechanisms are in good working order and it seems the piece is 100% original. Most of the silver has worn off the frame, but the barrel retains about 85% and the cylinder about 65%. A great looking example of an old west personal protection revolver.

Nice man's leather travel kit. antique. Beckers of DC

Talk about a great gift idea. Here is a piece that no one else your man knows is likely to ever see, let alone receive as a gift. This is a leather Travel Kit by Becker's that dates to the 40's and 50's and was sold in the exclusive Becker's of Washington in downtown DC.
When I first noticed this piece I was surprised by how nice it looked, considering it had to be at least 50 years old. Then when I opened it and saw the wonderful condition of all the pieces contained inside, I didn't hesitate to buy it. This classic brown grained leather men's travel kit was made for and sold by Becker's of Washington. Becker's was a high end gentleman's shop that catered to wealthy businessmen and politicians who frequented the shops back when downtown Washington was at the height of its popularity. This travel kit measures roughly 8 by 10 by 2 inches, but has enough room to safely carry as many personal grooming accessories as other bags twice its size. The brass zipper works perfectly and the extra durable bakelite accessory pieces are featured in a classic a tortoise shell color and pattern. The kit contains the following ; long comb, small trimmer, nail file, two different size brushes, hand mirror, one large and one small rectangle boxes for toiletries or shaving gear, a toothbrush holder, eyeglass tube and even a shoe horn. There is still more room to fit a few small items that had not been around back when this kit was being made for men, but they didn't miss much.
What could be better than an antique travel kit that will outlast other kits that haven't even been made yet? Talk about a unique gift for him..

1930's Chandelier. 16 inch contoured Peach / Pink glass Absolutely breathtaking. This gorgeous reverse frosted, cut to clear glass Art Deco shade measures over 16 inches in diameter and not only is
this an unusually large chandelier, it is also incredibly beautiful. With a light source that can handle up to four 60 watt light bulbs, you
have the ability to brighten any room in your house. Notice how the light reflects and refracts as it interacts with the dangling cut glass
crystals. There will be times when all the colors of a rainbow are dancing across your room from ceiling to floor.
The color of the frosted glass at times seems to be a shade of pink, but then a moment later the color leans much more toward peach. I think
the color will decide what it wants to be after it see the colors of the room in which it will soon hang.

As I said earlier, the fixture can be used safely with up to 60 watt bulbs in each of the four sockets. To give you something to compare, I shot most of these photos using first 15 watt then later 25 watt bulbs in each/ I normally use lower wattage bulbs for taking pictures simply because I am able to show the true colors of the pieces with a little more accuracy, so judging by the bulbs I used, you can imagine how much more light this classic Art Deco chandelier can produce.

Tested and ready to hang, we can even adjust the length this chandelier hangs below your ceiling. Right now it is hanging at 40 inches, not counting the dangling crystal at the tip. Just let us know when you make your payment that you would like the height adjusted free of charge.

Matched Pair 1930's Art Deco Glass & Brass Chandeliers What a wonderful find. A pair of beautifully designed, Matching Art Deco Chandeliers! This rare pair of antique Chandeliers have identical 14 inch diameter shades with a stunning pattern that combines milky white reverse frosted glass with highlights of clear cut crystal flowering vines. The center of the shades is ever so lightly touched with a hint of pale color that seems to change from amber to soft green to palest yellow.
Each fixture is lighted by a group of four bulbs which can be used safely with up to 60 watts in each. I shot most of these photos using first 15 watt then later 25 watt bulbs in each/ I normally use lower wattage bulbs for taking pictures simply because I am able to show the true colors of the pieces with a little more accuracy, so judging by the bulbs I used, you can imagine how much more light these classic Art Deco chandeliers can produce.
In my opinion the hanging fixture for each light is itself a work of art. Starting just above the light bulbs sits a gorgeous 4 inch round milk white glass ball, which reflects the light beautifully. Looking higher you'll see the colors change as the light traces the contours of sparking brass.
These beautiful chandeliers are set to hang a full 42 inches below the ceiling, but can easily be lengthened or shortened for you at no additional charge as long as you tell us the height you desire at the time you confirm your payment method..
Finding two identical antique chandeliers is a tough job by itself, but finding two antique chandeliers like these beauties only happens once in a great while. Don't miss your chance to have these eye catching lights hanging in your home . I am certain they will draw a tremendous amount of praise and attention from family and friends.

Lovely Hand Painted Antique Victorian Hanging Oil Lamp

This wonderful antique hanging oil lamp is a perfect example of simple beauty. Frankly this old Victorian lamp doesn't need anything more added, but that is just one person's opinion. You may think a few dangles would add something to this chandelier's beauty and you would also be right. The truth is this lamp would be gorgeous in any room, and with any number of changes made to it. This lamp is timeless and classic from the solid brass frame with its 1880's patent dates, to the fronted and etched glass font, to the ready to light antique burner, and all the way to the 14" hand painted milk glass shade. Oh and don't forget the milk glass smoke bell or the fine looking ceiling cap.
There isn't much I can say that would add to an already stunning oil lamp, so how about we let the photos tell the story of this old Victorian lamp.

Victorian Hanging Oil Lamp - Ruby Red, Cranberry Shade Beautiful. A Victorian hanging oil lamp with a gorgeous, one of a kind hand blown glass shade. This lovely old piece has been restored and is once again ready to grace a room in someone's home. The 13 3/4 inch shade is hand blown with ground flat edges. Being made made this shade is a true one of a kind piece. The ruby red, or cranberry glass features a pattern called Dot, or Thousand Eye Optic. The cranberry red shade has another interesting feature in that the out side is smooth and slightly frosted, while the inside is textured by the optic pattern. Very neat I think.
The heavy brass shade ring is dripping with a mixture of red and clear cut glass dangling crystal which add even more sparkle and shine to the antique brass lamp frame. This lamp also has a brass crown, which adorns the top of the vintage shade and above it hangs a wonderful cut glass clear and frosted crystal smoke bell. The font is not an exact match to the bell, but it is more than close enough to look great and add even more brilliance to this fine Victorian oil lamp.
Because of the lamp's stationary mounting, just give us your measurements and we will be happy to set up the chains for the length you need.
