Victorian Wood / Glass Bon Bon Box made into Jewelry box Victorian Wood / Glass Chocolate Box made into Jewelry box. These treasured ornate boxed were given as gifts filled with chocolate or candies. The box lids were so beautiful the recipient would save it as a keepsake. Frequently converting into a jewelry box.

This one here has a lovely raised and painted floral design. I assume that the raised motif is made of some type of applied composition material. The lid is is framed the reverso of the frame is ornately carved and holds mirror. The mirror was probably applied later. The floor of the box is glass lined. The box has beveled contours. The measurements are 14" x 11" x 4". It is surprisingly heavy for the size it weighs 5 lbs. The condition is very good for age. There is some age cracking in the wood veneer of the lid Then there two missing chunks of veneer with in the lower corner trim on both corners.
Condition: appropriate for age  

Round Victorian Aluminum Lidded Dresser Box Porcelian Hunting Scene Rare and unusual large aluminum dresser box container with pink depression glass divided insert. Usually this style is found as a musical powder jar. However this one has no evidence of ever being a music box. The stepped beehive lid is graced with a beautiful hand painted porcelain round depicting a horse and dog hunting scene. The aluminum base is lined with wood and stand on 3 little paw or claw feet. There is a pink depression glass divided insert that is in excellent condition. I cannot say for certain that is a piece belonging to a dresser set or if it is a candy dish or table service item. It is a mystery.

The aluminum is in need of buffing. There are a few small spots of tarnish and perhaps some dirt. There are no dings or scratches. The porcelain round has microscopic scratches to the surface but nothing that is noticeable upon normal viewing. It is 7.25" across and 5.25" high including the lid.

There is some faint writing on the bottom on the wood but it is illegible.

Red Hibiscus Flowers Tin Litho Cake Carrier Sweet Vintage Cake Carrier. The top screws and locks on the plate and is carried by the bail handle on the lid. Lovely red hibiscus flower depicted on both side of it. As you can see the top is red. The condition is very good. There is some pain loss on the rim of the plate and there are a few nick and very shallow dings on the top of the lid.

Extra large heavily cut crystal box or casket with hinged lid and Ormolu Mounts. This is a very heavy box, it weighs approximately 6 pounds, 2 ounces. The hinges are in great working order. Truly a beautiful piece and the largest I've seen. No markings. It is in excellent condition. Measurements: 7 1/2"L X 4 1/2"W X 4 1/4" H
