Another two piece of wood was carved to make the lid and tail. The interesting part is the different pieces of wood with different thickness and glued together on a wood base to form the dog. An tail is a piece of wood which was carved to make the key for this puzzle box to keep it locked in place. When you look at this jewelry box, it's hard to tell that's a box. In order to open the box, you need to find the key which is the tail. Slide the tail up, slide the cover to left or right, open the lid and there's your hidden boxes.
