Condition: used, very good, vintage, one spot of paint loss on its handle. Comments: note the blades have an unusual decorative pattern.

Kitchen Collectibles - Ekco – Single Hand Mixer/ Spring Action Cool kitchen gadget! It operates by spring action to the handle, which then turns the end for mixing. A One-hand, automatic eggbeater. Handle is wood and has a painted wood handle, with a hanging hole on the end, and it measures 10-1/2 inches when out, and pushes down to 9 inches when in operation. Marked: Ekco USA (on two of the four blade sides). Condition: used, vintage, minor scuffs on handle. - Circa 1959 when it first sold at 69 cents!

A & J – Beats Anything – Midget Beater This rare sized beater was made only one or two years and was designed to fill the need for a beater for small amounts, such as for beating a small amount of cream, or a single egg, or to mix a small portion of mayonnaise. This was last shown in the A & J 1939 catalog – written on the wheel is: Beats Anything – In a Cup Or A Bowl – and also is marked: A & J – Made In United States Of America. Is a four wing beater with wood handles and is 7-1/4 inches length. (Reference from Jane H. Celehar’s "Kitchen’s and Gadgets 1920-1950" 1982 pg. 75) This small size would easily be confused for a child’s toy beater.

Marked on top in the metal: Made In U.S.A. – A & J. Size: 7-1/2 inches length, with a four inch wing blade, in nice USED condition. The turn knob has a red wood handle tip. Made by the A & J Manufacturing Company of Binghamton, New York. That company was started in 1909 and was sold to the Edward Katzinger Company in 1929. Can be used to sift dry ingredients or to beat or mash fruits and vegetables when used with a strainer.

Vintage Beater & Base – 2 Cup, Crystal 2-Cup crystal base marked on bottom: Patent Applied For and written on each side are the increments; ounces on one side, and cups on the other. The metal beater part shows some rust, which should clean if desired, the four arms are a bit dented from use, the top handle is wood and shows some red color, but is mostly faded from age and use. Base measures 4-1/2 inches across the rim, and 4-1/2 inches height, and has four feet. With the mixer in place it measures 6 inches to tip of wood handle. Condition: USED, top needs polishing if desired, base has some rim roughness, but no chips or cracks – just shows age appropriate wear.

Size: 11-1/2 inches length, two-toned red & beige handle is 3-3/4 inches
Condition: USED, vintage, works as intended, need cleaning/polishing, has very minor rust spots which would clean with effort, beige ends of handles have black scuff marks
Comments: two-toned red & beige wood handle, T shaped, turn knob wood handle is red. That patent number is for the gear hub and was filed for June 13th 1934 and was granted Aug. 4th 1936 to Myron J. Zimmer of Chicago, IL/ assignor to Edward Katzinger Company, Chicago Ill (EKCO)

Comments: I’d think this would date to the late 1960’s to early 1970’s from the Avocado color was the most popular for kitchens during that time frame and this item was used to beat eggs, mix cream and the like. Similar to the food choppers - this is the more uncommon whisk/ blender!
